Change is Growth

Change is Growth

A Poem by Mr. Lopez

I wrote this for linda and also to myself.

I was recently inspired by a friend who has made great strides in her own personal growth. Both spiritual and mental. I like to think that I played a big part in this but I only pointed the way. The rest was up to her. We all have the ability to change and our growth depends upon the way that we perceive ourselves.  Change is the ability to evolve based upon our obvious personality defects.  Life is change, renewal of the mind, new consciousness, transformation.” I am's what I am's and that’s all that I am's" No one is "just that way" I just don't buy it! The brain just does what we tell it to. You have to want to make change in your life if you want your life to change. With God in your heart and change in your head ...well, the body will follow.  Your life can and will change.  What you do in your mind to create problems and what you do in your mind to fix those problems both require a change of thought. A change of heart.  Our lives will reflect the direction of our train of thought. These frames of mind can be a blessing or a curse.  People who make these personal changes accept that they themselves constructed these frames of thought and make a conscious effort to better their lives through change.  Renewal of the mind.  Renew your mind and you will change your life.  We should be building bridges into love instead of walls of condemnation, holding those who are in most need of Gods help at bay. God gave you a heart to feel love, compassion, empathy. And a brain to do both good and bad.  Invite God into your heart and home and your head and body will follow. With positive change there will be positive growth. Both spiritual and mental.
