Chapter 4: Progeny Problems

A Chapter by Mr. Enforcer
"

The Solver arrives in Michigan to meet King Michael, but finds himself with multiple issues, some unexpected...

"

The Solver arrived at the mansion of King Michael, but unexpectedly got a phone call from the Queen of New York...

Thomas: What's wrong your Majesty?

Queen: The Authority...

Thomas: What do they want?

Queen: They asked me to inform you that they are sending the Magister to New York, more specifically here...

Thomas: What is it about?

Queen: They received a complaint from the Sheriff you dealt with the other day...

Thomas: So, what, you want me to come back?

Queen: No no, continue with your meeting with King Michael, I'm going to make sure that the Sheriff in question will also be there when the Magister gets here, he needs to learn respect.

Thomas: You could do that just as easily yourself my Queen.

Queen: I know, but you've always been better at dealing out discipline than me.

Thomas: Fair enough, you will call me if something happens right?

Queen: You know I will...

The Solver rang the bell of King Michael's mansion, outside however was a flag that you didn't see anymore, a Flag of the Teutonic Knights.

King Michael was a member of the original Teutonic Knights, he was at least 800 years old, he took part in the original invasion of Old Prussia.

The gates swung open, King Michael had substantially less security than Thomas' own Queen, Thomas couldn't help but think that another rebellion was only a matter of time.

Thomas stepped through the mansion main doors, and was greeted by King Michael himself.

Thomas *bowing his head*: Your Majesty...

Michael: Ah, Problemlöser Harrison, what do I owe the pleasure?

'Problemlöser', the German for Problem Solver, even though King Michael was 800 years old, he had learned modern German over the years.

Thomas: The pleasure is mine your Majesty, however I am here on behalf of my Queen.

Michael: Oh, and what is her problem that she would like me to solve?

Thomas could feel an obvious hostility in his words, he wasn't aware of any problem between the Kingdoms of Michigan and New York, but problems between Monarchies was rarely disclosed publicly, even to one such as himself.

Thomas: My Queen would like to know if you are willing to provide her with a Sheriff from one of your districts, as she has been having problems with one of her own, one I sadly had to partly deal with myself.

Michael: Why would I give up one of my Sheriffs and leave me with a hole I would need to fill?

Thomas: Think of it as a favour fulfilled your Majesty...

Michael: Ah, you are referring to the time you assisted with that unfortunate rebellion in my Kingdom.

Thomas: Yes, my liege...

Michael: Well, perhaps you would be willing for a trade, I will spare one of my Sheriffs to go work for your Queen, if you help me with a problem I am currently having, that way I will owe you again...

Thomas: Sounds like a good trade, for me, but it must be a bad problem for you to be willing to put yourself in my debt again.

Michael: It is, actually, it's less business, and more personal...

Thomas froze up a little, he hated dealing with matters of a personal matter, they never worked out well.

Michael: It involves my first progeny, Anselm, I've heard rumours he's been planning to supplant me as King.

Thomas: What makes you think he would do such a thing to his maker? How old is he?

Michael: Not much younger than myself, he's 756 years old, but to this day he's always been headstrong and jealous, we parted ways around 500 years ago, I released him because of these very problems, I guess he's always held resentment over this.

Thomas: Where did you hear these rumours?

Michael: From one of my Sheriff's, he runs a vampire brothel with the front of being a nightclub in Detroit.

Thomas: Would he be one you'd be willing to part with?

Michael: If you find my old Progeny and kill him, he will be all yours.

Thomas: You wish him dead, what if the rumours aren't true?

Michael: He has been in the back of my mind for 500 years, I no longer want this problem hanging over me.

Thomas: Very well your Majesty, I will take care of this problem for you.

Thomas left the mansion, and called his Queen.

Thomas: Everything OK my Queen?

Queen: Aww, you worrying about me Thomas?

Thomas: It is my duty to be concerned about my monarch.

Queen: Always the modest one, any progress?

Thomas: King Michael wants me to take care of a problem he has, and in exchange, will send one of his Sheriffs to work for you.

Queen: Excellent, but...

Thomas: But?

Queen: We still have the problem of the Magister.

Thomas: Don't you worry my Queen, I will deal with our little Spanish “Judge” when I get back.

Queen: Don't do anything that might endanger my Queendom Thomas.

Thomas: I would never do anything of the sort, and he better not either...
