city.A Poem by Mouse
in the city I ate a hot dog. I ate two hot dogs. they were cheap and large. In the city my brother's friend became a police man and my friend's friend shot him dead. they were both o.k. guys when i knew them. all my father could say was, "well, these things happen." I said to my dad, "yeah, no s**t man." He did not like that. when I was a kid, and I was in the city, I would throw my bouncy ball into the rushing traffic at the intersection almost every time. that was fun. I liked that. my dad didn't. in the city I played guitar on the corner and a man asked if he could throw my guitar into the street for thirty dollars. It is to bad it wasn't my guitar. my guitar is cheap and thirty dollars would of bought a lot of hot dogs. in the city, when I was to tired to walk to the park, I slept in a cardboard box. i would position it next to the trash so that it looked natural. those other homeless people would sleep in boxes on church steps. I don't trust homeless people. in the city there are a lot of cars. people believe they own them. this is because they do not question the basis of their paradigms. ownership is just a word that means power over an object or creature. I could have stolen their cars at any time. the power was an illusion. but I am not a thief. unless I am in mortal danger. then I would do it and return it later. that is why I learned how to do it. in the city I destroyed corporate property because the company was known for exploiting the poor of third world countries. what a bunch of jerks. there are a lot of jerks everywhere. some people believe that they are mostly in the city. the people who believe this tend to live in the country. some people believe they are mostly in the country. these people tend to live in the city. I have a home now. it is in a city. but not that city. that city is. it makes me sad. i don't like the sign that read, "HOMELESS SIX MONTHS PREGNANT AND HUNGRY. PLEASE HELP. GOD BLESS YOU." I don't like it because I don't have any extra money. I wanted to starve to help her. no one was helping her. in the city, very few people were giving her any help. that baby was going to die in the city.
"in the city there are people you can meet. in the city there are places you can be. i was going, about my business, i was wondering, what i'm missee-ee-ee- ee-ing. being famous." -Perry Ferrol. © 2008 Mouse |
