SANCTUARY FOR THE DAMNED

SANCTUARY FOR THE DAMNED

A Poem by Matt Thompson
"

Probably about 99% darkness, with 1% hope. But, it's that 1% that counts.

"

SANCTUARY FOR THE DAMNED
Come o death,
devour this suffocating plague.
Dying flesh clings to contorted bones.
Contorted bones imprison a weeping spirit.
Come o death, for hope is withering.
Usher in peace during torment.
The time is near.
Strike down this beating heart
so it no longer pumps venom through these veins.

For hell I leave this flesh,
a pile of rotting waste.
For eternity, I bestow this spirit,
Beauty from ash.

Come o death,
With burning furry.
Silence the pain with your vengeance.

Come o death, silence sorrow.
Come o death, silence mourning.
Come o death, with your mercy.
Come o death, with sanctuary.
