One Way Street

One Way Street

A Poem by MourikisN

Down the one way

On the street known as life

Oh how the branches sway

On the trees of my strife.

I fight for what’s mine

But it's only a delusion

For it was never mine

It was only an illusion.

Hellbound on my destination

No time to look around

No time for hesitation

For fear of being slowed down.

The one thing they don’t mention

When you’re running the race

Is there is no pension

On the time you might waste.

There will come a day

When you’ll wish to go back

No matter how much you pray

You’ll never be cut the slack.

So, take every moment by storm

Every challenge like your last

To fight against the norm

And never regret the past.
