This Blackness

This Blackness

A Poem by Mo

This blackness is not a curse
Cyanide does not ooze from my pores
Nor do you need to follow me around stores

This blackness is not an omen
My smile won't burn down churches
Nor will you need to stop me during "random" searches.

This blackness is not a plague
My heart is not full of deceit
Nor should you stand, when next to me is an open seat.

This blackness is not a storm
This blackness is blessed
This blackness is warm
This blackness is not a curse.

I love this! The repetition of "This blackness" really shows ownership. I especially love the contrast between the last stanza and the rest of the poem.
Great Job!
