Goodbye

Goodbye

A Poem by Morrissey

You are dead. Lifeless in your bed.
Speak to me once more. Lie to me the way you once did before.
Tell me you love me. With the pink lips that I once loved. Nod your head the way you used to at my immature questions.
Let me run my hands through the hair I once adored. Your face looks the same. But your eyes are closed. And your lips cease to open.
Let me lay by you once more.
Your cold body, unresponsive. No life left in this house.
What have I left? What does this heart beat for?
Take me! I scream towards the sky. And it begins to rain.
Are you up there my love? Are these your tears? I cry with you. And my eyes will never dry. Next to you is how I will die.
