The Outsider

The Outsider

A Poem by Morpheus
"

time to grow a pair

"

The Outsider

ever get tired of being the one

peeking through the blinds

always on the outside

playing second fiddle in others minds

no, I'm not a lover boy

just working for the weekend

I have much more value

won't cost you much to be my friend

rockin in a rockin chair

wanting to be on the stage

never given that much notice

just let me loose out of this cage

others seem to pass right on by

I want to be the one in your eyes

giving me the lead position

I guess never seemed to be that wise

did I come across as not to bright

was I covered up with warts

never understood the reasons why

just on the outside of everyone's hearts

being pushed aside is getting old

when will the sun smile on my face

I want it to be my day

sick of finishing in second place

I guess it's up to me to take control

if I want to stop being the back seat rider

time to make and take a stand

tired of being the outsider
