Slow Reawakening

Slow Reawakening

A Poem by Maudlin Kat
"

Poem with a (rare) bit of hopefulness. Written sometime around 2009.

"

Smiles and laughter have been sleeping

The part of me that knows joy all but gone

After so much trial and tribulation

I forgot everything except how to be strong

My broken heart needs mending

My sick soul needs patience

To remember love and forget pain

I’ll need help from someone above

But I see it sometimes

In glimpses and shadows

The girl that was me

Has been left hollow

Maybe rainbows and palm trees

Will melt the pain away

I’ll just keep crying

Until that sunny day
