My heart belongs to you

Who would never accept

Me the way that I am

But emotions run hot

When you feel all alone

Even with someone at your side

Sleeping, hugging a pillow

Wishing it were you

Dreaming you were he

Pretending that I am her

I guess we all want to be

Somewhere else

At the end of the day

But will you forget me?

And all that we could have been?

All that we were

And can’t be

And shouldn’t do

Because it can’t be right

And you give me up so easily
