Passion for Glory

Passion for Glory

A Poem by MoriartyMesa

The greatest of all time,

he went the distance, he went for it all,

BOMAYE,

BOMAYE,

BOMAYE!

Your left shoulder would rise up,

followed by the right

and that Sting of the right jab, with a left cross,

right jab, left hook,

Blocking,

moving,

swinging left, fast right,

tilt of three inches and you let loose four quick jabs,

and one viscous right cross.

His dance would make any Broadway star weep,

the lighting speed of the man can only be matched by his spirit

in this sport writer's opinion,

he is the one and only Champion of not just the ring of Iron Fists,

but how one man could stand up for the rights of people,

here an abroad.

Your Passion is your Glory,

Mr. Clay

He was something else. Reminds me I have a documentary I need to watch, been saving it for a while. The one that documents the fight against Foreman I believe, the one in Africa. You're right, too, almost all of his social protests that were unpopular at the time even putting him in jail, and for a time taking away from him his career, history has proved him right. Validated his stand.

Very cool, Mes.

"Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee." This is a wonderful tribute to one of the greatest fighters of all time. He is fighting still but the scenario has changed. Thanks for sharing!

This poem needs the "Eye of the Tiger" running in the back ground.

I like how so much is wrapped up into such a short little write- boxing, dancing, and determination. Nice poem. It's also cool to see how you made them all interconnected to each other, and therefore provide a meaningful message for all of us to read.
