Miss. Adela N'evertil: Das ist Berlin

Miss. Adela N'evertil: Das ist Berlin

Miss. Adela N'evertil adventures.

"
Well my lovely dears, it is your girl on the spot after one long steamer across the Atlantic,

a few boring adventures in Blighty by my dear friend Burty and his chums at a boring weekend in some hunting lodge,

the only lively talk were wild tales to be had in Berlin.

Your girl has made her way to Berlin,

No, I am not looking for a man with a monstrous mustache,

or hoping to catch the eye of these crazy reds or nutty revolutionaries.

No, I am here for the Booze with out a man in blue,

this gay night life where the music streams across the night air life.

And Berlin is the Only town for real hijinks, I will promise this,

the Germans are game for drinking and dancing and the men stand as tall as the beer steins they master.

And the women match beer for beer and look as sturdy as a table crowded with dodgy fellas from Cincinnati .

Why I might feel a tad jealous of those buxom beauties if the boys didn't fall ankles deep in love with yours truly.

This town knows how to stand on it's head when it wants too,

the shows are divine and the style would blur the mind when it comes to a Friday night with the girls,

dressed like men.....................

Yes the Berlin Night life has taken front row to extraordinary decor.

And style, why last night I had a very interesting drink or three with a Mr. F.W. Murnau.

Some of you may have seen his flickers, but I can tell you not all the G and T would make him interesting.

I did meet a fine dressed man who spoke of Red Party ideals,

yet another actor.

And the shows are something to see,

hard to think we once scorned the sausage eating people,

this is a town the is meant to burn as bright as Paris or New York,

however, far for me to sound political or this way or tother,

the beer halls are a little frightening, there was one fella who said the most crazy things.

But it can not reflect the love, life, light, and soul of the country,

at least not Berlin,

well my darling ones, this girl got an angry telegram saying she better make her way back if she wants to keep wooing her readers.

Tell all my friends at 42nd street,

your girl will soon be there.
