Sound

Sound

A Poem by MoriartyMesa

Someone who shall always remain nameless asked a question that would be an address to humanity and questions our vary perception of our own being.
"If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to heart it, does it make a sound?"
Yes, why should sound begin and end with man?

Does the eagle searching a perch not hear the sound?

Does the land not shed a tear at a passing friend?

Does the Earth still spin, untouched?

Yes. the tree makes a sound!

Yes, the tree can remember the claws of a Bear reaching heights to stretch its limbs.

Yes, the tree felt every drop of rain,

every sweet weep of the sky!

And the Mocking bird remembers the home she built for her young ones.

Sound shall never end,

nor begin with man.

They are just..........................there.
