I'm sorry

I'm sorry

A Poem by Ana Clara

I had you,
several times I had you right where I wanted you to be, next to me

But this is wrong, right? I should have worked through my issues instead of using you as a prize

Oh and I love you, every part of you, and I don't want to admit I ruined us, I've always blamed my mental health but of course, it was the same as blaming myself

And I'll never, ever forget about you, and I know you'll never forget about me... But we forgot how to tell each other the reason we disagree

I needed to leave and you know that, I'm sorry, but I wanted this so bad

The thing I value most in writing is originality. A poem with such an oft-used title needs to stand out with a fresh point of view and you've done that. Not one line was predictable & that's pretty amazing when it comes to the universal idea of saying "I'm sorry." The most satisfying apology is when the person has truly owned their s**t & that's why this is a great apology (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
