Hovering Heights

Hovering Heights

A Poem by Poet of the fall

I pass through the ridges
Down the slopes , my gaze upward
Comically when it’s supposed to be downward
For the moments worth a fuzzy recollection
To the lake shimmering pearl white in a star studded reflection

I mount the snow capped valley
Up to the summit,my head often down
Hauntingly vigilant for the broken trails that await
For the teenage dirtbag’s ascent
To the flawed world with an imperfect blend

I begin to swim in the deep blue sea
Arms spreading backward, stark sunshine on my back
Pleasantly floating along the tide
By the tremors that chaotically bring tranquility
Never more riding a wave of stability

I love your metaphors, the pearl white in a star studded reflection, and the ending learning to swim in the turbulence and acceptance of not riding the waves of stability. I guess we all need to learn to do that.

Thanks a ton Norma ! sometimes it's always about riding the tide of uncertainty and turbulence.
