In my final momentsA Poem by Moraša KouřilThis winter I take my last breath.
In my final moments, I hear a serenade that caresses my ears. While I lay in the tranquil light of the eternal moon, the snow swallows me and I bleed out.
The forest is voiceless and I am speechless. Never have I heard such silence. Not even the deer eavesdrop now. Despite all, I die alone.
As the last drop flows out of my veins and my lungs fill for the last time, I remember, one last time. What I've said and what I've done. Memory fades, records erase. What isn't remembered never existed. The snow swallows the last drop. My body's left empty as is my mind. It swallows me whole, I see no more. © 2025 Moraša Kouřil |
