Make up

Make up

A Poem by Moonstar29

I hide behind my eyeshadow like a dark curtain
I wear my eyeliner to shield my shame
I put on my blush to appear normal
I will apply my concealer to hide my true pain
I make sure my mascara is waterproof so it won't run
I will hide my trembling lips with gloss
I try to paint a perfect picture but when I look in the mirror I still can't hide
I put on my make up to hide the sadness no one else can see
So I can be a cog in the machine

Where it has little flow toward the last three lines, it makes up in meaning. I think it is a beautiful poem that fits many young women throughout the world. I like it a lot.
