At the End

At the End

A Poem by MoonsFall
"

An old fool's reunion.

"
Oh when we were young and free
t'was a bond unbreakable between you and me.
Where did the friend that used to be
go in this head full of failing memories?

How I wish for your presence and caring grace
once again in these frightfully chill days.
To feel the gentleness of your close embrace
with caring warmth to keep cold at bay.

With a hopeful gaze of turning the leaf anew,
a desire to see your face I have great
on this path where memories gather and brew,
do i make haste to a majestic gate.

Splitting the doors, light flows forth
overflowing the expanse with feelings of relief.
Opposite of me a dream come to truth
letting loose all of my constrained grief.

In your company only then
can i smile again.

Author's Note

MoonsFall
I would like some comments on the overall word choice and length of this small poem. One question i keep having in my mind is if i should make this longer or would it seem to forced? I went with sweet and simple.
