Listen To My Lullaby

Listen To My Lullaby

A Poem by Heart Of The Shattered

Lift me up to the clouds and listen to my lullaby
But don't let me go, because I don't want to fly
Time has a way of catching up to you
Better not let go and try to rush into
So hold on and don't go so fast
You never know how long it's gonna last
Hear my words, hear my song
Try not to think of what could go wrong
Hear my tears, hear my friend
As far as I'm concerned there is no end

Author's Note

Heart Of The Shattered
I'm not sure how many of you know this; a friend of mine died in a car crash. It was a long time ago but the more I think about it the more I realize how young he died. He was barely out of his childhood, just starting middle school and I think that's why I have writer's block; he died so young and that could have been me. I don't know about you but I want to cherish and fully live my childhood. So I dedicate this to him and I hope he knows I wrote this.

So now listen to my lullaby.

Not bad. Your rhyme scheme is a little simple, but I think it fits for what you're trying to do here. The last line is the best one. Good work.

Thank you, I also think it was simple rhymes but your right; it does seem to fit into the poem :)
