A Sad Smile

A Sad Smile

A Poem by Nabeela Mobashwer

She walks strong,
With her head held high
Brushes off the hedges
Thorned without a cry.

She fooled millions
With her tilted fake smile,
Showed her life
Shaking the dead soul alive.

Hurt till maimed,
Only the strong rag remained.
Beautifully mirrored
Happiness so fake,
Could not stay hidden
From me, her best mate.
Behind the beautiful eyes,
I traced the pain so deep
Behind the pretty veil
I saw the hurt sad smile.

I really liked this piece :) No matter how isolated you may feel, there's always that one person who can see through the lie whether they tell you that or not

I like writing. It feels like an escape, a solace that I find in nothing else. I don't write too well, but whatever I do, it's all instinctive :) more..
