Unreasoned Goodbye

Unreasoned Goodbye

A Poem by Nabeela Mobashwer

I always knew I was the kind
Who would strike back,
As soon as they are mimed
But here i sit,
Dont scream, don't cry
Pulled down to numbness
By a fate so unkind.

I sit here quietly
With naked surprise
Annoying disbelief
In my crippled heart
I stare down at nowhere
Only praying it's all a nightmare
From which i would wake up
And find me being the center of your world, once again.

You have put me in such shame,
Such disgrace, such pain
How can you expect me to live through it
When you suddenly find your world turn out false
And a life made of lies
With painful alibis
Falling apart in a blink of eyes
Leaving me stunned and surprised.

Just like that, you turned your back
Just like that, you broke what we had
Just like that, you named it false
Just like that, you changed your course.

I'm too stunned to speak
I'm too stunned to cry
I'm too ashamed to complain
About our unreasoned Goodbye.

I like writing. It feels like an escape, a solace that I find in nothing else. I don't write too well, but whatever I do, it's all instinctive :) more..
