Alone at last

Being alone and being lonely are very different things

Alone at last after such a long road
A road suffocating with thorns and thistles something many do not know
Scars and bruises I walked such a traden path
But now that I'm alone the road is clear at last

The sun is blazing with its raze showing the path so clear
Water glistening by the wayside and deer
I've never had a chance to see things as they are
It felt like the thorns reached so very far
With bruises and all I never knew how strong I could be
Until being alone at last with more clarity

I too have known that of which you write.
Sometimes the best times of my life, was when l was alone. However..... being with somebody that loves you can be so very nice.

Very well written, it resonates deeply with me.
Though the feeling 'alone at last', and path I thought clear,
more than once in the past, would suddenly disappear.
I'd be thrust back to lonely, with the doubt I was ever free.
