Alone.A Poem by Moonlight's ChildA piece I wrote in class the other day. Based on some life stuff. Two people walking alone One one way One the other Slowly approaching one another
The girl Wind whipping through Her long curly hair and woven cloth Messing it But she doesn't care
She's alone Looking for a kindren soul Walking in the night Her bare feet padding softly On the concrete
The boy A troubled face Looking down at the ground His unnaturally shelled feet Pound upon
He's alone His back laden with scholarly burdens Walking back home To continue working To continue dying
She looks up Eyes heavy with question But- in fear of rejection She looks away- down Examining her bare red toenails
He walks by Wanting to stay alone No- thinking that's what he wants Head down He ignores her
She takes a few more steps Then stops- turns He's now a speck in the distance His troubles do not parallel hers She walks back into the wind
One person walking alone Going where her feet will take her Knowing she must think and live and walk Alone. © 2011 Moonlight's ChildReviews
