AND GOD HIDES HIMSESF IN LITTLE THINGSA Poem by Rose of many coloursa maiden had a visit from an admirer, he spoke words of wisdom, she lives alone,her home is under a mango treeA renowned old admirer,
Sought a beautiful young maiden hidden in rags,
Tis her tilted house faced toward the mire-
And a stew brewing on the fire,
Thus the old admirer’s mouth spilled words of wisdom.
The young maiden just contented to hear;
What beholds her future so dear?
So the old admirer armoured her imagination with,
The possession of others: the world of glitz.
Her dribbling mind he lassoed to reality.
He made her aware of
her modest home, and plain attire.
Thus, these parting words; old Scottie spoke,
The oracles of God: her wretched heart he evokes;
“And God Hides Himself In Little Things.”
