Introduction

Charismatic   Moonera

The adjective that best describes me is charismatic. Through the mirror of my eyes, nothing and no other human being in this world can affect my intellect to make me realise any other ideologies to adopt myself to. “Charismatic  Moonera” is how I vision myself " I would be cheating the  true  person who has been ploughed on, worn out from a battered life, and was crippled by abuse and domestic violence and escaped to tell about it.

How did I come upon the word Charismatic? This happens while I was doing a course in theology, the meaning fascinated me and for a while I pondered on its contents. Eventually, as times goes by I drank from this cistern of knowledge and refreshed myself when needs be. There is other form of influences that spurred me on. However as this story unfold we will be enlightened of these phenomena.

About fifteen years ago my younger of two sons said to me: “mummy you are greedy for knowledge.” Most recently my eldest son and I were having a conversation and as if he read the thoughts that have been reeling through my mind for the past weeks, he spoke these words, and “knowledge is power”. This is concrete evidence that I was heading towards another level of power.

After completing two levels of education, I became restless and wanted do something more with my life.  Signing up to do a course in Social Work at the University of the West Indies was another aim to battle the odds of becoming all that I can be.  Unaware of the fact that some devilish past wounds would be reflected upon during some of the courses that had to be covered. With some really dynamic lecturers at the helm of my courses I became a success once more.

The influence to pen this story came about through two journals I did as assignments for the above said course. Other motivations were from very close friends. It is painful and heart rending to relive the past through the sands of time especially when dealing with” Body Parts”.
