Some Dead Dude Went to Heaven

Some Dead Dude Went to Heaven

A Poem by Jessie

One day,

Some dude died
And went to Heaven.

When he got there,
He found himself in a large crowd
Of other Heaven-inhabiting humanoids
All surrounding a magnificent throne.

The dude was unable to see the god he assumed
Sat in the that throne through the sea of
Bodiless dead persons.

There was singing everywhere;
The angels were singing,
And the bodiless dead people sang along,
And the singing never ended.

"Excuse me,"
Said our dead dude to another dead dude,
"Um...what is this? Am I in Heaven?"

"Chyeah bro!
You're in Heaven!
And you get to sing praises to God
Forever!"

"Oh I see..."

"Yeah! Isn't it great?!"

"Well...
I just expected a little...

"Well,
If you don't like it,
You can go straight to Hell."

And thus another voice was added
To the choir of God's praises.

Excellent. You caught my attention with "dude" hook, line, and sinker. You got me trying to figure out what the poem was exactly about and what you were going to do with it. Truth is, I couldn't figure it out lol. I have been questioning that very scenario and how it will be fun and why people would actually sing praises for eternity and you came up with a very witty answer. Wonderful idea, structure, and execution! It took me by storm.

I like your view on the afterlife, and the conversation that the "dude" has at the end is priceless. Just the perspective that i needed to start the evening. Cant wait to read more.
