Letter to a Lost Boy

Letter to a Lost Boy

A Poem by Jessie

My dear, lost boy,

Do you remember when you took me to Neverland
For the first time?

There I learned that
Lost boys are never
Really lost.

Yes,
They are different from
Other boys,
And if they ever grow up,
They will always be different from
Other men.

I know we are far apart,
That soon we will be farther apart,
And we are far from our Neverland.

We know the reality we must live in now
Will never be comfortable for
Lost boys and girls
Like you and me.

We are misunderstood.
We are different.

You and I,
We will always feel separated
From those we watch from our windows,
And those we see staring at us from accross the street.

But, my dear, lost boy,
I will always be the lost girl at your side,
Holding your hand tightly in my own,
Because you are the only happy thought
That will make me fly,
Whether or not we have pixie dust.

Will you make me a promise?
Put your pinky in mine,
And promise me,
That when we have to say goodbye,
That goodbye isn't forgetting this time.
Can you promise me that
You won't forget me?

We may always be lost to the world,
But we found each other,
And as long as I hold you in my heart,
We will never really be
Far apart.

Love always,
Your lost girl.
