Stolen Kisses, Stolen Smiles

Stolen Kisses, Stolen Smiles

A Poem by Jessie

Sometimes, when you’re sleeping,

I steal a kiss right off of your lips.
Do you know that you smile for a moment,
As I add another stolen charm
To the jewelry box in my heart?
You never remember in the morning,
But when I can feel the sun pouring in from the window,
All I feel is that one soft, secret moment
When I felt your lips on mine in the light of
The glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling.

When insomnia robs me of my rest, I look through
My collection of stolen kisses and smiles,
Marveling at the way they each sparkle
In the quiet night, as you dream so far away.

I will steal another kiss tonight, and steal another smile.
I will add another charm for my jewelry box, and my
Heart shall be satisfied for another restless night,
While I listen to your breathing.
