185. Venus’ Chariot

185. Venus’ Chariot

A Poem by Alex Moondragon

A distinct scent of water on the air

Rejuvenates my mind’s winter thoughts

On life, while dark silhouetted clouds

Scamper across the face of the moon

To the tune of the gentle breeze

Rustling through the shrubs and trees,

Carrying diluted hints of jasmine

To my flaring nostrils, which snatch

At the air like a jealous lover "

Coveting spring with the desire

Of a dozen flaming white horses

Drawing a starlit chariot for Venus

To season the crisp air with love

And ignite the entire universe

Into one blazing inferno of passion!
