365 DaysA Poem by Montana TomA tale about my friend Les and his struggle with the sauce.“365 DAYS" 'Twas just about a year ago Brother Les was going strong, He'd put away a 6 or two And hardly slow it down.
Made no difference day or nite He'd match me to a tee, Then way beyond, he'd get the lead, As I just filled with pee.
He'd never hav’ta stop and go, He could drink the whole damn keg. His bladder surely oversized, Maybe even a hollow leg.
Then one day a cop and Les Their paths came to a cross, And like any other man of law He had to prove who's boss.
Your license please, I will take, This is, a major crime, Just so you believe it too, We'll have you do some time.
Les took the cure, did his time Paid up all his dues, He even went away, it was, To a different kind of school.
He did return down another road It had taken quite a turn, There's lots of other things, he says, Out there, yet to learn.
365 days today, Boy! He must be dry, All that time,...no beer, no wine, No nips of ole red eye.
Ol' buddy Les, he sure has changed, Now mornings he's pink, not pale, And in his frig, no Oly or Bud, All replaced by Ginger Ale!
