The Re-enchantment of the World

Piaget asked children why objects fall to the floor.

They said, ‘because that is where they belong.’

He was put off at their flippance.

They were startled at his sameness.

He pointed to advances in science.

They clamored at infinite space.

Piaget said the further you go back in time

the more erroneous are man’s conceptions.

They told Piaget a lion would one day devour the sun.
