Welfare King

There is upon the high savannah

the lion of a mighty mane.

It's nobility that's made him famous

but even so, he'll maim us

should the time to feed draw near.

This ruler of the bush is prone to loll

and barely raise a paw

to swat the flies away.

Without a thought to think he’ll waste the day.

Shouldn’t he be put to work

and not be such a selfish jerk?

Shall we stir or lift a finger

so this tawny bum can loaf and linger

when it's clear he simply isn't worth

the trouble that it takes to keep him here, on earth?
