When the World was One

When the World was One

A Poem by Montag

When the World was One

thoughtful waterways murmured

ceaseless, searching, ever-matriculating

down the fields of understanding

to unite within the sea

and

busying bees descended

hovering 'top stamens in the bloom, hesitant

to then and there be nectar thieves

as

allusive wind appends its sighs

along the dotted lines of eucalyptus limbs

in upward poses of huzza

to

honor the harmonic declarations

insistent songbirds sing

to declare, in truth no thing at all.

Save the life within.
