Play of Light on WaterA Poem by MontagPlay of Light on Water I will pray as if God hears me act as
if He watches I will
reason with God and be
met with silence. I will
destroy myself to bring about God’s Kingdom on earth recognize
God’s Kingdom is not of this earth sing
hymns as if praise curls up to Heaven like
the blooded compliance offered
by Abraham to God. I will falter at the face of God shrink back from the bloody knife with which man murdered God not many years before nor yet
wiped clean. Live as
if it's good to live walk in
light, yea though I sense the shadow feel
the breeze and be certain it is the movement of my angel’s wings
as if pretending was not the most natural thing. © 2024 MontagReviews
