Oh! The Places You'll Go!A Poem by Montaga la SeussOh! The Places You’ll Go! Congratulations! Today
is your day You have no education But you’re off and
away! Your time as a
student was short and imprudent You failed to comply
with our primary rule: Keep paying and
paying (and paying) for school. If you had a degree,
oh we’d like you a lot But it’s sad to
consider what you haven’t got You haven’t got
tassels or castles or money Propellers or horses
or blueberry honey You haven’t got this
and you haven’t got that Exhausting it is
listing things that you lack! What can you do with a wee education? Stand on your head or proffer a carnation Maybe you know how to whistle or sing Or answer the
heliport phone when it rings Couldn’t you dance at
the drop of a penny? Your choices are
multi and merry and many!
Each night on our
knees we deliver a prayer For the meek to inherit the earth and the stars Advances in
metrics and self-driving cars For positive thinking, for minimal strife For an effortless magic in everyone's life. © 2024 Montag |
