Such thoughts of course are purely fiction

I’m no fiend.  I see affliction

and I answer: subsidizing cures for cancer

and homeless orphans in Quebec.  I write a check.

What then if I change the channel

or click a link to buy a flannel

shirt instead of giving?

What if I just keep on living

as if I’d never chanced to see

those frozen Texans on TV?
