Cage

Cage

A Poem by Monstre_Charmant
"

It's about having expectations to do what your told and to stay quiet. Basically it's describing how women are treated or were treated.

"

Wisdom sleeps on the wrinkles of your face

As if you knew and felt everything already

But know I want to ask you

How were you able to live this way all your life?

Being stuck in a cage,

With no one to let you out.

Obeying everything your "Master" said

Watching him walk away with someone else

How do you sleep at night?

Knowing all the things he's done to you?

Didn't you ever want to escape and flee?

Why didn't you make yourself happy?

And do the things you Wanted?

To soar higher than the cage's ceiling

To run farther from the cage's boundaries

How do you sleep at night?
