Empty ShoresA Poem by Noah ColeA storm on an empty beach...There is only abandonment on the cold shore, Waves drift over the cracked shells of the past, The wind shifts, but there is only the smell of death, Darkness sweeps over, blotting out the fading sun. Lightning strikes in the distance, but the rain is pelting upon the sand. Wind rustles the grass, and leaves a cloud of beige dust. And Nature's fury has taken over... The ocean is a mass of ice and that hail pours down. Icy rain shatters against the frozen beach. Grass covered in crystal glitters in the blizzard, As the blue sand resists its danger. And Nature's fury has taken over... Looking out to the orange sunset, A thought passes on the wind, The sky fills with fear and dread, A trial approaches, and future dreams are shattered, Only the present can determine what is to come. And a lonely sea is in still waters. As abandonment is on the cold shore, The waves drift over cracked shells of the past... © 2012 Noah ColeAuthor's Note
