No More

A Poem by Noah Cole
"

The pain of one who has lost their true love...

"

Without a word you left,
A game with my mind you play.
A confused mind you make.
Don't let the hammer break,
And drive the stake right through.
You can destroy it,
I don't care.
This heart you've come to take.
Your mind is fake,
I know what you came to do.
I've broken down,
And withered away.
To you it's just a piece of cake,
Yet with tears a lake I make.
With you nothing's new.
My life is ruined,
No happiness does remain.
No matter how hard I try to wake,
This life isn't fake.
It's all because of you.
There's nothing left to live for,
I am . . . No More.

Author's Note

Noah Cole
(Note from Feb 2012): This is another poem from my mid-high school days. Due to the time period in which it was written, I am unsure of details concerning its origin. I can tell you something, though; this poem was part of a set of my poetry that revolved around the whole "dark, sad, and lonely" theme. This one in particular wasn't actually about anything in my life (which I feel is kind of obvious when reading), although I did have a bit of fun with it. This was another attempt at playing around with some rhyming schemes (which I later came to dislike). It isn't one of my best, but maybe someone out there liked it, or a part of it at least. As always, I appreciate any and all thoughts: critiques, suggestions, and analyses. Thanks :)
