Dead World

A Story by Andrés Danilo Hedkvist Muñoz
"

Two elite teams of soldiers survived a nuklear catastrophe. Now, these teams must stop mutants which has spread around the globe, as well as finding the source of the outbreak. And at the same time they must stay alive.

US - November 5th 2013 23:35:10

“Alright folks, we’re gonna go in fast and we’re gonna hit ‘em hard!” the corporal shouted as he turned to his fellow soldiers which were all dressed in same black armor, they, the soldiers, were a group of 5 men, they were the elite team of in the US Army.

What made them so special?
None of them were genetically mutated, they were all fully normal, fully humans.

They all carried the same weapons, and armor, telling them apart was a tough job, but their corporal knew how to tell them apart.

Mischa, get up here… When the door opens you’ll be the first one to rush these freaks!” the corporal shouted while he turned to Mischa and looked him straight in the eyes.

Mischa was a male, he was 23 years old, bald, brown eyed and strong, he was the biggest one inthe team. His mother and father were Russians, Mischa was the guy anyone in the team or anyone at all could rely on, and he always stood up for his friends.

The corporal stood up in the light armored vehicle which could fit 10 men, although the only ones were the driver and the team with 5 members.

“Thor, once Mischa has gone postal on the freaks, it’s your turn to give the rest of those mofo’s a hell!” the corporal shouted once more, this time he turned to a man called Thor.

Thor, was 35 years old, the oldest one in the team, he used to be the strongest one as well until Mischa showed up. Thor had white hair and grey blue eyes; Thor was a few centimeters shorter than Mischa whose height was approximately 193 cm.

“Reaper, Megan and Grey, ya’ll rush the freaks after Thor has given the freaks a hell and Mischa’s gone postal on ‘em, you got me!?” the corporal shouted again while staring at the three remaining members which were sitting at the back of the light armored vehicle.
Reaper, 20 years old, known by every other team in the US Army for being ‘one of the coldest a******s ever lived’, Reaper was fast, vicious and never hesitated, he felt no fear, he was approximately 185 cm tall, he was bald and had green eyes.

Megan, she was fast and vicious, although she did lack the courage that Reaper has, she was still the smartest one in the team, being able to hack computers. Megan had brown hair and dark blue eyes; her height was approximately 179 cm, she’s 23 years old.

Grey, she was the other female in the team, known for her skills in hand-to-hand combat; she was cold blooded but never liked the thought of killing. Grey, she had red long hair and green eyes; her approximate height was 183 cm, her age is 19 years old.

And then there was the corporal, the leader of the team, he was one of the best soldiers in the US Army, but he still never managed to get a promotion, why?
Because he hit the president and the general, he had to stay a corporal for the rest of his life. The corporal was either called ‘Corporal’ or ‘the corporal’, he was black, 187 cm tall, he had a shaved head and dark brown eyes. He was great at hand-to-hand combat, there was not a single weapon he could not handle and there was nothing he feared, his age – Well it’s a secret, only the corporal knew and Reaper since they always known each other.

“YES SIR!” the whole team roared after the corporal’s question.

“Let’s go, tough guys!” the corporal ordered his soldiers, they forgot everything the corporal had told them to do, and they all ran out together, shooting at every moving target.

Bang, bang, bang it sounded, bullets spraying like water from water hose, mutants running towards the soldiers, dodging as many bullets as possible.

But in the end, every mutant dropped dead to the ground, and that was when the team decided to take a look around them.

Washington DC was in ruins, half rotten corpses on the streets, vehicles and buildings were on fire because of the mutants. Or was it just because of the mutants, the elite force knew that another squad had already been here with a tank, virtually destroying everything possible, just to prevent mutants from surviving, they failed. Their tank was destroyed; the mutants were smarter than expected.

“Let’s stay here, enter that building, secure it then we’ll sleep there over the night” the corporal ordered them. So they obeyed him.

“Clear!” Mischa replied after a while, they all entered and watched the light armored vehicle drive away.

US - November 6th 2013 09:45:00

Sunrise, one of the sweetest things a soldier could see, too bad the dark clouds turned that sunrise into a nightmare after a few seconds.

“My fellow Americans… Today is a day that won’t be remembered by anyone because no one will…” Megan turned the partly broken radio off, she turned to the others who sat there, quiet, thinking.

“Does anyone think we’ll survive this goddamn nuke strike?” Megan asked the rest of the squad.

“Well… There’s a small chance we could, but I don’t know for how long we would make it in a world packed with radiation and with limited supply of food and other necessary things…” Mischa answered.

“A*****e, she wanted you to tell her that ‘yes, there’s a chance for us to survive’ you gotta think!” Thor told Mischa, Megan turned to Thor.

“No, Thor, I wanted a straight, honest answer and I got it” Megan’s voice had changed, it was cold, or was it, she was afraid and the rest of the squad knew it, but no one said anything.

“Squad… Team… Elite force… I don’t give a damn, anyways, ya’ll been a great squad and I’m proud of you, now, stop being depressed and start acting like real goddamn soldiers!” the corporal was annoyed of the way his squad was acting, he wanted no fear in his squad, he demanded it.

“From what I’ve heard from HQ… The nuke should hit Manhattan in about 25 minutes” Grey said to break the silence.

“Thanks for the unnecessary update, Grey…” Thor replied.

“Thor, shut the hell up or I’ll break your goddamn skull!” Megan yelled angrily at Thor.

“You stupid b***h, we’re gonna die, don’t you get it, we’re gon-” Thor stopped, he said nothing, his face was pale, it was because of a tremendous pain he felt in his right arm.

Reaper had gripped his arm and twisted it, almost breaking it.

“Thor, you aren’t making this easy, either you shut the hell up or I’ll toss you to the mutants or I’ll break your arm” Reaper said, his voice was cold and filled with anger.

“Goddamnit, cut this s**t out, act like real soldiers!” the corporal broke them up.

They all sat down again, quietly in their own little corner which they had in the destroyed basement which was located in the ruins of an apartment.

     Reaper checked his watch.

“10:10:35” he whispered, “10:10:40” he continued, it was like a countdown.

“Shut the hell up, Reaper!” Thor growled, no one else said anything, no one else cared, “I’m tired of you and your s**t!” Thor continued.

Reaper stood up, he was ready for a hand-to-hand combat against Thor.

“C’mon, I’m gonna break you into pieces!” Thor threatened Reaper, but Reaper never did care.

10:12:30
they looked at each other, Thor delivered a kick, Reaper blocked it.

10:12:35

Reaper punched Thor right in the face, causing Thor’s nose to break, they kept on with their fighting.

10:12:55

Thor kicked once more and Reaper ducked, then Reaper kicked Thor right in the leg, causing Thor to fall to the ground.

10:12:58

The nuke hit the ground of Manhattan, Thor hit the ground of the basement, and that was when the shockwave came and pushed the whole squad to the ground, including what was left of the buildings.

Russia – November 6th 07:02:20

“What are we going to do!?” the corporal yelled, the corporal named Vladimir Brotsnij turned to his comrades who were sitting on the cold floor of the bunker. The thing about this Russian elite team was this – They were all clones, or mutants, or just not human.

Vladimir Brotsnij was the face of his elite team, he was literally the face. He was the only one of them who did not wear a balaclava. These men were genetically created; they were created in tubes, the Russians secrets.

But why was it that Vladimir did not wear a balaclava, first of all, he was the representing of the team, he could not wear anything to protect his face, second of all he was the only one of them who actually was created with a face – he was the most human of them, he had brown eyes and short brown hair, he was about 185 cm tall and he was very strong, although his muscles did not show.

His team consisted of 5 men, clones, mutants, him selves.

“Answer me!” he yelled, panicking, the clones all looked at him, no one answered, “a nuke is coming down, bringing us a bigger hell than now… We can’t just sit here in this god forsaken bunker and wait for it!” Vladimir continued.

“We can sit here and wait, but do we want to, I say we should, if we go out there, our chances of surviving are minimal…” one of the clones answered.

“If we’d survive the nuke strike in here, then we could have some chance of surviving out there… If we’d find any survivors – Or else the mutants might get us” another clone added.

Just when they all turned quiet in the bunker something happened, they heard a loud noise, and it came from the locked titanium door. The clones, they all stood up, looking at the door, it was like someone was hitting the door with a rock, but the clones all knew what it was.

“That goddamned mutant… Is it still alive, I thought we blew it up with the C4!” one of the clones whispered.

“We did, we did blow it up, I saw it… But out of the ashes something else was born…” Vladimir replied.

“Why didn’t you tell us, comrade!?” one of the clones asked, looking at Vladimir.

“I thought that the mutant was unable to track us… But I guess I was wrong…” Vladimir whispered, the mutant kept on slamming its humongous fists against the titanium door which was going to burst into pieces in a matter of minutes.

“You sure as hell was wrong, but anyways, what the hell are we going to do now?!” one of the clones asked, then that same clone, turned around, facing a box which was lying in the corner of the bunker, in that box there were ten massive machine guns, you could take down whole airplanes with one of those, the bullets were 20 cm long and 2 cm wide.

“I know what to do… Let’s mount ‘em, fire ‘em and kill the mutant with ‘em!” Vladimir shouted in astonishment after seeing the weapons.

The clones did what he had told them to do, mount the machine guns, or turrets, or anti air guns.

They had all lined up, holding two weapons each, well, not holding them; more like letting the turrets rest against their shoulders while keeping one finger on the trigger.

The door burst into pieces, sending shrapnel of the titanium door flying all over the bunker, luckily no one was hurt – Except the mutant who burst into the room together with the door, while getting shredded by literally five thousand bullets.

The rests of the mutant fell to the ground; the clones stared at each other, surprised over what they just did.

“We killed something that was un-killable” Vladimir whispered, they decided to walk out of the bunker, by this time, they did not care about what was outside the bunker, they did not care about the nukes which were going to hit Russia in about five minutes, and they certainly did not care about the fact that they might die - In about five minutes or something like that.

They stared at each other, then they all looked into the horizon, their fallen comrades lying on the green grass field, their fallen comrades and fallen mutants, monsters.

The clones, Vladimir, they all looked up into the sky, they saw small glowing things which eventually grew bigger as they came closer, one of those glowing things disappeared behind the hills, hills that were a long way from the clones, hills that disappeared together with the powerful flash.

“NUKE STRIKE!” Vladimir shouted, and then it all went quiet as if nothing ever had happened, actually, it never did go quiet, the sound of the shockwave, tearing up the whole ground, the sound of the explosion was so powerful, any other sound was isolated – Any other sound was not heard.

The shockwave blew the clones away.

US – One day later

“Damn, my head hurts…” Megan said as she sat up.

“Well, after all your hangovers, you should be used to it” Grey replied, staring at Megan, and then they both smiled.

They turned around, they heard something, they saw something move, and from beneath the pile of junk a fist came up, Megan and Grey ran up to their feet and pulled whoever it was out of the junk.

That someone was Thor, and Thor did not say much, Thor died after punching his way out of the junk which covered him. How?
Well, he tried to break free from the junk which was on top of him, the more he moved, the closer it got to him, the junk contained pieces of steel, sharp, dangerous, he had kept them away from him with the one free hand he had, the other one was broken and stuck beneath a piece of concrete.

He decided to punch a hole in the junk with his free hand, so he did, but it caused the sharp pieces of steel to cut right through him, causing him to die.

The corporal walked up to Megan and Grey, they did not notice him at first, and eventually they turned around.

“Poor b*****d… Anyways, ‘nough of this crying, let’s go find the rest of the team, we’ve lost one of us, we can’t afford to lose another!” the corporal said, looking straight into the eyes of Grey, and then into Megan’s eyes. Both of the girls nodded, they stood up and stared at Thor’s dead body.

“No need to look us up, corporal… Me and Mischa magically flew outside of this cellar and landed close to HQ…” Reaper said and smiled as Mischa sat down, holding his foot which had been severely hurt.

“It’s impossible, ‘close to HQ’ means Nevada, and we’re… In DC for cry out loud!” the corporal replied, aware of Reaper’s joke. Reaper and the corporal chuckled, the rest were quiet.

The corporal stared into the eyes of Reaper, and then they both walked outside, leaving the others in the building. They were both quiet, or in shock because of what they were watching, the nuke, the one thing they managed to survive… It had destroyed the whole city in which they were standing; whole of Washington DC had been blown into bits and pieces, the corporal and Reaper did not even want to imagine how the zone which had been in direct impact of the nuke looked like.

“So… Where to?” Mischa asked as he walked out of the destroyed building in which he and the girls had been.

“Let’s go back to Nevada… We need to get back to HQ, since radio’s bust, and we have no other way of communicating – We’ll have to get back on our own…” Reaper replied as he loaded his G36.

“So what, you’re saying that we’re going back to Nevada on foot?!” Grey asked nervously, “I mean, c’mon, there’s freaking mutants out there wanting to kill us and you want us to walk back to HQ!?” she continued.

“He never did say that we were going to walk back to Nevada, and how do you know that there are mutants still walking around, after all, a fifty eight megaton nuke just hit us!” Megan answered as she analyzed the destroyed buildings around them.

“I think that… Well… If my binoculars aren’t totally bust, then there’s a pack of mutated creatures walking towards us… No wait, let me rephrase that, running towards us, they’re pretty fast… And they are half rotten humans, well at least they used to be humans – But they’re half rotten mutated humans now!” Mischa added after a few seconds of silence.

“Oh s**t, run… I mean… Team, round up, we got to go, ASAP!” the corporal yelled as he tried to stay calm, he loaded his weapon, which he himself had built – It was a mix between a sniper, rocket launcher and a machine gun, although it wasn’t too big, it was still on heck of a killing machine.

The corporal sat down on one knee, holding his weapon steady and switching it to be used as a sniper, a small scope popped up in front of his eye, the corporal took aim, the corporal fired, and the corporal hit three mutants in the head with only one bullet.

“GO, GO, GO!” Reaper yelled, pulling his weapon up, taking aim and getting ready for a few kills, but just when he was going to stop he heard something, a vehicle, the closer it came the better Reaper could figure out what it was, it was a pickup truck, no a jeep, even better… No it was a pickup truck.

Reaper turned around and saw a pickup truck stop in front of him, in the passenger seat sat Grey and in the driver’s seat sat Megan. And then there was someone sitting between them, it was Mischa.

“Reaper, get on, Mischa move back, I’m joining you guys!” the corporal yelled as he frantically fired, he did not care anymore how lousy his accuracy was, as long as he killed something or someone.

The mutants got closer, they even started to run faster – The pickup truck started to roll, it was driving away, the corporal turned around and strapped his weapon onto his back. He started to run, he ran as fast as he could.
“Here’s a hand!” Mischa said and smiled as he stretched his arm for the corporal, the corporal smiled back and grabbed Mischa’s arm firmly, getting pulled up onto the pickup.

“Wait a minute… Where the f**k’s Reaper!?” the corporal asked in pure panic.

“Oh s**t, corporal, I swear I never saw him get off the pickup!” Mischa replied nervously, then they both got quiet, they stared at the road on which they were driving on. They stared at the destroyed house, and they saw him, Reaper.

Reaper stood there, quiet, staring at the pickup truck which was driving away, and he saw it in the horizon, disappearing in a cloud of dust.

“It’s for your own good, my friends…” Reaper whispered, then he looked at the horde of mutated half rotten humans, also known as zombies, well intelligent zombies – The horde had gathered around him, one of them walked up to Reaper, it was obvious that the mutated zombie which was drooling and staring Reaper straight into the eyes was the leader of the pack. But all the sudden, they just walked away, leaving Reaper there, alone.

Reaper stood there, calm, alone and staring at a wound which he had covered with a piece of cloth.

He had been bitten, when he and Mischa “magically flew outside of the house” a mutant had been sleeping there, or more like waiting for them to go outside, anyway – Mischa had been knocked unconscious and while Reaper was trying to get up on his knees the mutant had attacked him.

The mutant had bloodshot red eyes and green skin, it looked like a mixture between a lizard and a human – It probably was.

The mutant had bitten Reaper in the leg, just when it happened Mischa woke up and shot the mutant in the eye, causing the bullet to go straight into the brain and killing the mutant, but the bullet had hit Reaper in the leg, which made the bite mark look like a bullet wound, Mischa knew nothing, Reaper knew everything.

“Once bitten, the mutation will cause you to turn into one of them – But which kind of them you’ll become… Only God knows, although we humans created this” Reaper thought, then it happened, first step of mutation, the pain, the pain was caused because organs and body parts were changing, either into the better or into the worse, although there is nothing good about a mutant.

Reaper was lying on the ground, roaring in pain, but the pain stopped, and so did Reapers roaring, but stage one of the mutation had just begun, Reapers nails had turned into claws, black claws, and his hands had massive veins and so did his arms – His muscles had expanded a bit and his sight got sharper just like his hearing.

“F**k me sideways…” Reaper whispered, smiling of delight, “maybe this isn’t so bad after all.”

“Corporal… I’m sorry, we’re all sorry…” Mischa told the corporal which sat there, staring at his own gun. The corporal didn’t answer, the corporal just sat there, he was remembering the fun times he and Reaper had once. They used to be best friends when they were younger.

“Used” the corporal whispered to himself “he used to be my best friend…” he continued, he spoke as if Reaper belonged to the past, as if Reaper was dead.

“Corporal, we’ve managed to establish contact through the satellite phone… HQ is listening… Wait, something’s wrong… They’re screaming, corporal I hear gunshots from HQ!” Grey said as she turned around to face Mischa and the corporal, she did not know that Reaper had disappeared, until then.

“Where’s Reaper?” Grey asked Mischa as she handed the satellite phone to the corporal, Mischa’s shocked look described everything.

“Oh God, Reaper’s gone…” Grey said as she turned back from Mischa and the corporal, she looked at Megan who was too focused on driving, “didn’t you hear me, and Reaper’s gone!” she continued.

“Shut up, Grey… I know he’s gone I heard you the first time!” Megan was sort of upset, she was in shock – They’ve lost two already, that’s never happened before.

“The reception to HQ is really bad!” the corporal said after listening to static in about one minute.

“No s**t, corporal, you shouldn’t be surprised since nukes just hit us and maybe the radio at HQ is bust!” Mischa replied, annoyance in his voice.

“Wait, I hear something!” the corporal continued.

“I-I am-I’m in need of… Backup… HQ… Gone… I’m the… Survivor” that’s what the corporal heard until the satellite phone lost signal.

“Seems like HQ’s gone… But we’d better go check it out… HQ’s got all we need to survive this” the corporal said after thinking about a possible way to get into HQ and then out again without losing anyone.

Russia – One day later

“Ah, my head hurts…” one of the clones said as he woke up, “where are you guys?” he continued as he realized he was alone on what was left of the green field on which they were standing on before the nuke hit them.

“I’m here… The rest are scattered around the place” another clone said as he analyzed the field for any possible threats.

“I’m here too… But the others are scattered around the place… Literally speaking, it’s like the shockwave tore them apart…” Vladimir said as he walked up to the two remaining clones.

All three of them were covered in dirt, the only one that was covered in blood was Vladimir who had gotten a piece of metal go through right shoulder, but he had already covered it with a bandage.

They all stood there in their black dirty clothes, staring up into the sky which was clear, not a single cloud, the sun was shining – The only thing that destroyed this beautiful view was the fact that the whole country had been destroyed by nukes.

Whole forests had been destroyed, pieces of houses were scattered everywhere, destroyed vehicles were lying upside down, burning.

“We shouldn’t just stand here…” one of the clones said eventually.

“We should…” the other one said, but was silenced by Vladimir.

“Run, now… Mutant b******s on incoming, go, go, go!” Vladimir yelled as he turned around and started to run as fast as he could; the clones were right behind him.

The mutants weren’t far away, the mutants weren’t slow, the mutants weren’t dead, and the mutants certainly weren’t killed by the nuke strike.

One of the clones opened his backpack which he had strapped tightly onto his back, but he had taken it off just to open it up and pull out his binoculars.

The clone stopped, turned around and looked at the mutants running towards him, Vladimir and the other clone did not stop, they ran, without the other clone.

The mutants ran on all four – It looked like a spider with only four legs and a head from which the legs grew out from, the mutants were fast and they managed to run across everything which came in their way without any trouble.

“Damn…” the clone whispered as he calmly put the binoculars back into the bag and started to run as fast as he could, “damn, damn, damn… Christ!” he yelled finally when he noticed that one of the mutants only were a few feet away from him.

Just when the mutant was going to stab one of its legs right through the back of the running clone something happened, the mutant dropped dead to the ground, it had been shot in the head.

Another mutant was getting closer to the clone, just when it was a few inches away from the clone, something else happened – The mutant tripped because it had it right legs shot off.

The clone noticed this, and the clone noticed that the other mutants stopped and ran away, searching for cover.

“Stop!” someone screamed, that was exactly what the clone did, stop, he noticed that he was running towards a minefield, a minefield which had not been affected by the shockwave, or someone buried the mines after the nuke strike.

Five persons walked out of a destroyed house which was on the other side of the minefield, one boy which was about sixteen years old, the boy had covered his face with a steel plate, and the second person was a girl which was about the mid twenties, so was the third person, a girl in the mid twenties and the two other persons were Vladimir and the other clone.

“These guys… Girls… And the boy are clones, they were the other secret of the Russian government” Vladimir shouted at the clone which was standing in front of the minefield.
“Very nice… But tell me, who shot those mutants and how the hell can I get to you guys!?” the clone replied with a hoarse voice.

“Just walk across the minefield!” one of the girls replied, the clone did not answer; he just took a step out into the field, whispering things to calm himself down.

“I can do this… I’m fine… There’s nothing to be afraid of…” he whispered as he looked down on the ground, watching each and every step he took, he kept on walking, but after ten steps he felt safe, it was about twenty more steps to go, “I can do this, it’s fine” he kept on whispering, now he was walking faster, he felt calmer now, he kept on walking, “it’s cool, I’m fine, there are no mines, they’re just f-ing with me” he continued his hoarse whispering but eventually – click, the clone stopped, looked down and he felt something.

“I think he stepped on one of the mines…” the young boy said, staring at Vladimir.

“Aw, s**t… I feel like dead meat now…” the clone whispered as he stood there, on the mine, he did not move a muscle.

“He’s pretty fucked now…” one of the girls said.

“Yup… He’s dead fucked now…” Vladimir answered, “Whatever you do… Don’t move!”

“What’d you expect me to do, huh, start running around like some kind of maniac!?” the clone replied angry, scared.

“These mines, they’re old right… As far as I know, that means that the mine shouldn’t detonate as soon as he lifts his foot, he might get a three second delay, he might be able to run away!” the young boy said after a few minutes of silence.

“Hey, kiddo, you know that three seconds isn’t much… Aw, f**k it… RUN!” Vladimir shouted, the clone responded, he thought there was some sort of threat, the clone decided to run.

Click.

“That sneaky f*****g Russian… That son of a bi…” the clone was blown into pieces, he didn’t get very far, in pure shock he stopped as soon as he heard the mine go ‘click’ – Although the rest of him managed to get far away after the mine went ‘boom’.

“Holy… Jesus Christ!” Vladimir yelled, “What the hell… I mean… God!?”

“What’s wrong, Vladimir” one of the girls approached him “We all knew he was dead meat…”

“But… I thought that he had some kind of chance… I thought that… Kid was right!” he replied, shocked after what he just had witnessed.

“Vladimir… We all knew, even you, that those mines weren’t old enough to give him any sort of delay chance to survive” the boy said with a cold, dead voice.

Vladimir sighed, then he and the other clone left, left them behind – They were no good, after what they had witnessed, they knew that no one who was able to give anyone false hopes of surviving was of any use.

After a few minutes of silence, they noticed that they had walked pretty far, almost too far; they were not even close to the destroyed house. They were somewhere else, in the woods, dark woods.

“It’s getting dark… We should rest here and move on tomorrow…” the clone whispered to Vladimir.

“Aye, you’re right… Find a good spot; I’ll take the first watch, OK?” Vladimir replied, the clone nodded, found a nice spot close to a tree, because of their clothes they were pretty well hidden, almost invisible.

US – HQ

“Hey you guys… I don’t know where we are to be honest!” Megan said to break the silence; it was the only thing she could think of, breaking the silence, although what she said was not the best thing to say.

“What the hell are you talking about?” Grey asked, Grey was angry, they had lost Thor and Reaper, and they were probably lost somewhere in the US.

“Chill, Grey… We’re not lost; we’re driving on the correct highway, well… At least what’s left of the highway anyways… Hey, Megan turn left here!” the Corporal said as he glanced at Megan and Grey, Mischa had fallen asleep.

“Left, why left… It’ll lead us into the desert, corporal?”

“Yes, left, Goddamnit turn now!”

“Why, corporal, tell me why?!”

“Megan, just do it now, right now, that’s a goddamn order!”
“Sir, yes, sir!”

Megan turned left, causing the pickup truck to drive into the desert, the Nevada desert.

“Why did I just turn left to drive straight into the desert, corporal!?” Megan asked the corporal.

“Because HQ is just beyond those plateaus!” the corporal replied.

After a few minutes of driving, they saw it, HQ, it was just like the corporal had told them, and it was beyond those plateaus. HQ was almost fully destroyed; it was pieces of aircrafts, ammo dumps, vehicles and some soldiers scattered around the main building.

“Welcome to HQ, the Box… Or Area-51 as some usually calls it” the corporal said as he kicked Mischa’s right left to wake him up.

As they all walked away from the pickup truck, they all stared in horror, whatever hit HQ, and it had hit HQ pretty good.

“What happened here?” Mischa asked as he turned to Grey, “I mean… I know they were attacked by hostiles but… How the hell has hostiles managed to do this, I mean c’mon, it’s Area-51!”

“Well, Mischa, no fortress will ever be impenetrable” Grey replied as she looked into Mischa’s eyes, they all felt something, something out of this world, or was it?

“Hostile spotted!”Grey yelled as she started to fire rounds into thin air.

“Grey, stop it, you’re wasting ammo” Megan said as she gently pushed Grey in the back, Grey turned around, fear in her eyes, fear and tears. Grey had obviously seen something, but whatever it was it was gone, the only thing left was a cloud of dust where it was spotted by Grey.

“Move out, team” the corporal said as he led the team into HQ, Area-51, the Box, their home.

Inside the massive hangar there was nothing more but destroyed aircrafts, bodies ripped apart, dead giant bug like creatures, those creatures looked like flies, except these flies were the size of a human, they possibly even were humans in the beginning. The bugs were all greenish, yellow big eyes, they had their thin wings on their back but, most of the bugs were holding some sort of weapon. Either a melee weapon or a gun, it was understandable since the bugs had arms, legs, hands which were four sharp claws and their feet was basically two sharp claws, except the claws on their feet were sharper and longer than the claws on their hands.

The team proceeded deeper into the hangar, on their way they found people, who had be crushed by debris from the roof of the hangar, or debris from any nearby vehicle or aircraft which was inside.

Eventually the team got to a special door, the door that led the team out of the hangar, but not into the desert, behind that door there was an elevator – The team stepped into the elevator, it was empty, bloodstains on the white elevator walls, Grey pushed the button which said Level 10, the elevator started to shake and eventually it started to move, down, down below ground, below the hangar, below the desert and into the research labs, into Area-51.

The elevator doors opened, a horrible scent of rotten flesh and smoke made a surprise attack on the team, this caused all of them to take a deep breath and they all tried to hold their breath for as long as possible, but eventually Megan was the one to throw up.

“And today’s breakfast is… Probably milk, slice of bread and some ham… I think” Mischa said with a piece of cloth covering his mouth and nose as he stared at Megan who was busy throwing up, the team stopped and waited for Megan too finish, and eventually she did.

The team kept on moving, through the massive hall which used to be one of the smaller research labs; this research lab was used for examining smaller objects, like pieces of rock, insects and so on. But now, it was almost impossible to say that this used to be a research lab, now it was nothing more but a mess. This white massive hall which could fit one hundred people and one hundred desks was now colored in red and white, red as blood, and white as what was left unstained in the room. There were burn marks; black marks, someone or something was set on fire. Pieces of scientists were scattered on the floor, a few of those big bugs were dead on the floor as well.

Shotgun shells and other empty magazines were scattered on the floor, weapons, and a few soldiers were dead. The gruesome sight of a female scientist running for her life and eventually being stabbed by one of the bugs was a horrible thing to say, especially when the female scientist was still standing there, even though she was dead hours ago.

“Some sort of serum… The bugs’ claws, they inject a poison into the victim which causes the victim to freeze and eventually die either from the wound or the poison” Mischa said as he scanned a few documents which he was holding.

“And what makes you think that, Sherlock?” the corporal asked as he went closer to the dead female scientist, Mischa stared at the corporal as if he was trying to tell the corporal ‘don’t touch her’.

“Corporal… It’s not what I think, it’s what the scientists knew, it’s all here in the documents” Mischa replied after a while.

“So what else does it say in the documents?” Megan asked as she covered her nose from the smell in the lab.

“Well… I’ll just read some, listen carefully now.”

The bugs we created are amazing… They look like any other insect, except these are smarter, we can control them, teach them other things which other insects can’t be taught. We have created the ultimate bug; these will be perfect for use in war.

We’ve used a new test subject, we decided to combine human DNA with the bugs DNA, it worked, this new bug is called Omega 1, and it can create new insects by using humans or any other animal as a breeding tool. By forcing a claw into the skin of a human/animal it can inject a poison which freezes the victim and eventually kills it, unless the wound kills the victim first (Bleed to death), this poison contains a special sort of bacteria, this bacteria used the body of the victim as a cocoon, eventually the body will hatch and a new bug is created.

Final note, to anyone who will find this – These bugs are intelligent and they have the size of a human, well it depends on the size of the victim mostly. But the victims who are children will never be used for breeding, only as something to chomp on. Anyway, we’ve suspected that Omega 1 has escaped from its cage and it’s now running amok here, in A-51, we can just hope that some soldier is fast enough to kill it/them before it’s too late. Although O1 is weak to UV and bullets it seems like… It’s human, it’s intelligent, and it can handle a few weapons and so on.

We thought that the cooperation with the Russians would help us with creating a new breed, but now, we’ve created mutants and monsters, just like the Russians, God help us.

“Damn… That’s some fucked up freaky s**t going on there, Mischa” the corporal said eventually to break the silence which had lain upon the room after Mischa had finished reading the document.

They kept on searching the room for anything more, and once again Mischa found a file containing tons of documents, all of them were reports, facts of new mutants, monsters, nightmares which had been created and eventually moved to other facilities. And most of those mutants escaped, evolved, and mutated anything and anyone else in this world.

“Sir… We should move deeper into the facility… Look for survivors’ y’know” Grey said as she moved away from the circle.

“She’s right, let’s move” the Corporal said.

The team walked slowly towards two steel doors, and next to the doors there was a sign:
Hallway 01

Elevators to floor -100

Labs

Medical centre

The group knew where they had to go, and why.

Floor -100 was 200 meters below ground and it contained enough food, med kits, weapons, ammo and small newly designed electrical generators which could supply a whole country for a week.

Those new generators were small, compact and excellent on the battlefield since there was a new type of weapon in the basement also known as -100, but taking the elevators down was a risk since the elevators could be falling apart. The team opened the massive steel doors, and they saw an empty hallway, on the left there was a long wall, there were signs on the walls, doors which led to other smaller labs, but there was one door at the end of the hallway which the team wanted to reach. It was the door which led to the medical centre, they needed small med kits to carry along, and they never knew what was on the other levels of this facility.

On the right side, there was no wall, well there was a long wall made out of glass, bulletproof glass. And on that glass wall there was 3 elevators, each of them powered by a magnet, it made the elevator go up or down faster and yet it could slow down in time, instead of crashing down and killing those who are on it.

But there was ways of sabotaging them; a simple piece of hair could cause the elevator to lose magnetic power which would cause it to fall straight down and… You know what would happen.

The team advanced slowly in the corridor, moving carefully across each and every door they passed, but eventually they got to the medical centre.

“Secure” the corporal whispered as he pointed at the door.

“10-4, corporal” Mischa said as he slowly got closer to the two white doors which led into the medical centre. Just as he was about to push one of the doors open something happened, something kicked the doors open and caused Mischa to go hurling back down on the floor and get knocked out.

Pieces and the doors themselves flew across the hallway, the team throwing themselves down on the ground, getting hit by one of those doors would crush you, and Mischa was nothing more but lucky.

Reaper moved slowly towards Area-51, he was aware of the attacks, he was aware of what had happened there, and he was aware of his team being in danger.

From a plateau in the desert he saw a small dot like structure, with the use of his eyes which had evolved even more, he could zoom in and out just as if his eyes were like some sort of high-tech binoculars.

Slowly, he walked, moved from plateau to plateau. Quiet, deadly.

His skin had gone hard, almost like a rock, it had turned gray, but his face was still normal, it still looked human except his eyes.

“I hate this godforsaken desert… And I hate walking in the sun, can’t it start rain?” he whispered as he moved across the sand. Suddenly he felt something, something in the sand was moving, “what the hell’s going on now?”

Something was making the earth around him crack, it was not any kind of earthquake, or was it?

He stopped moving, he held his breath, and then something popped out of the crack which had formed around him.

A scorpion, a small scorpion.

“Is that it? Jeez” he kept on walking towards the HQ.

Eventually he came to the HQ, and he advanced into it, into the hangar, into the facility.

He knew where his friends had been, he could smell them.

Then he came to Hallway 01, he saw traces of blood, a giant monster, a mutant lying there dead. Empty shells, someone has been fighting here, his team had survived a hell, one of the most dangerous of mutants; there were two of those giant mutants and one was dead but the other one was probably getting stronger for each minute.

“The blood on the floor” he whispered as he got closer to small puddles of them, he sat down and smelled the first one “Mischa”, he walked to the destroyed doors, “you were in the way, weren’t you… You were going to secure the doors when this beast kicks them open” he moved to another puddle and smelled “Grey”, he saw that there was a hand print on the wall, made out of blood and he smelled that one as well “Grey again”.

He started getting visions, he saw everything turn back into the way it was; he turned around facing the doors which led into the massive laboratory.

He saw his team, his friends open the doors, they came closer to him, and they did not see him, because they couldn’t see him.

“So, guys… There you were, thinking you were all safe when, Mischa gets two doors over him… But what about the rest of you?” he turned to the others, everything had stopped. He started walking around the soldiers, moving them around to make everything fit, it was like a puzzle.

Mischa was in the air, falling slowly towards the ground, he got hit by one door. The others threw themselves to the ground.

Grey was lying in front of Megan, the Corporal wasn’t too far away, “OK, so you’re on the ground now, in front of Megan, so Grey, what happens next?” he then realized what had happened, Megan shot Grey, it was friendly fire.

He saw it, Megan stood up, the monster started roaring, it was too loud for Grey who was confused and scared to notice the sound of Megan’s weapon.

Grey stands up gets hit in the left shoulder, she leans towards the glass wall, therefore her handprint.

He turned around, he saw the Corporal back away, and dragging Mischa with him, Grey tripped and fell to the ground while Megan fired at the monster which was moving slowly towards them. That was when the Corporal decided to use his grenade launcher which was attached to his weapon.

“Megan, get down!” the Corporal ordered, she threw herself to the ground and tried to crawl away from the slow monster together with Grey. The Corporal fired one round, now, everything slowed down even more; Reaper had to see every detail.

The grenade flew through the air; the monster roared an accidentally swallowed the projectile, a few seconds later boom, a faint explosion was heard and the monster fell to the ground, dead. Because of the monsters thick and hard skin the explosion didn’t hurt or cause any external damage, although the internal part was pretty much messed up. Every possible vein, organ and bone had turned into a red slob.

The monster collapsed, the team got into one of the elevators and went down, into the basement.

Russia – The Woods

“Wake up… I think we’ve got some company” the clone whispered as he gently hit Vladimir on the shoulder, Vladimir woke up, angry and annoyed. He had been awake the whole night because he had trouble falling asleep, since he didn’t know anything about the terrain.

“What makes you think that, fuckstick?” Vladimir asked annoyed, but then he realized what the problem was. Vladimir turned pale, he got scared as he saw 3 men standing in front of him, and one of them had a black robe with a hood and a black mask which covered his face.

The second man had a white robe with a hood and this man had a white mask.

The third man had a gray robe with a hood and he had a gray mask, but what really got Vladimir concerned was that fact that there were no holes in the masks, no way to breathe, no way to see.

Vladimir didn’t know what to do, but after a while he decided to whip his out his gun, he was going to shoot those three strangers. He pulled his gun out; just as he did so a stick came flying which hit his wrist which caused him to drop the gun. Vladimir looked at the man in gray, the man to the right who had thrown the little stick.

“What do you want from us?” the clone asked after a moment of tension, the three men in robes turned to each other, and all of them lifted their robes and pulled out a weapon each.

The man in gray had pulled out a thin sword, but Vladimir knew that the sword was capable of cutting through almost anything or anyone.

The man in black pulled out two swords, the same sword the man in gray used, but the difference between the swords which the man in black used was the fact that he could detach the blades from the shaft and throw it and swing it around for greater attack range, the blades were attached to chains which were hidden in the shafts.

And then there was the man in white, who had a simple weapon, a staff.

“So… Whatcha gonna do now? Slice us and dice us… And white boy, whatcha gonna do with that stick?” Vladimir asked and grinned. The man in white picked up a stone the size of his fist, threw the stone into the air and while the stone was in the air, the man in white hit it with his staff. The stone turned into dust and Vladimir sat there, afraid.

“C’mon you guys, what the hell do you want from us?!” the clone started to panic, he didn’t know what to do, those men were too fast, too dangerous. The clone did not want to die, not yet, not now.

The man in gray nodded to the others and the others nodded back, he made a gesture with his hands telling Vladimir and the clone to follow them.

Vladimir didn’t want to come with them, but the clone told Vladimir that it was the only good thing to do, none of them want to die in the dark forest.

They walked in the forest for hours, the man in white was in the lead, and then Vladimir, the man in black, the clone and at last the man in gray.

“So who are you guys? Vladimir asked, but the man in white gestured with his hand to be quiet.

Trr, a strange sound, trr, again, what was it? It turns out, the three men, the three mutes made weird sounds to communicate with each other, clicking sounds, they sounded like animals. Maybe they had grown up in the woods, alone and they had to learn how to communicate in some way and making clicking sounds was probably the easiest way.

“What’s happening?” the clone asked, the man in gray turned to him and held a finger in front of his lips as if he was telling him to be quiet.

The man in white pointed at something, there was a small camp, but it was almost in ruins, it seemed like it was their camp which had been destroyed and the vigilantes’ were still there. The man in black stood up and ran as fast as he could towards a man who just stepped out of the ruins of the camp, the other man who was standing there was about to yell but it was too late, the chained blades had gone through his throat and his spine, he was dead before he hit the ground.

Now, two armed men ran out of the ruins and they fired wildly, in panic. By this time the man in black had disappeared and the man in white whipped out his staff and ran towards the men, the two men started firing at him, but the man in white dodged every single bullet, ducking, sliding across the ground and eventually he threw his staff and hit one of the men in the eye, the staff went through the man’s head, the other one freaked out, he was going to run, but it was too late. The hard fist of the man in white had turned his head into shrapnel.

And eventually the three last men who were inside came out, they find their dead comrades on the ground, and the man in white was gone. But the man in gray was ready for a fight, he ran towards them, the men started firing at him.

But this man in gray was abnormal, he dodged bullets, used the sword to hit any incoming bullet, he even sent a few bullets back to its owner. A man got a bullet straight in the head, the second man was hit in both legs, and he sat down. The last man had to reload, this was when the man in gray jumped up and kicked the man straight in the face, and at the same time, the man in gray sliced the sitting man’s head off.

That was when out of nowhere the other two men with robes showed up, they stared at each other, nodded as if they were saying ”nicely done”, they all sat down on the ground, next to every dead man.

Vladimir and the clone walked slowly towards them, when they got closer Vladimir opened his mouth to say something, but just when he was going to say it he stepped on a small piece of glass which shattered beneath his foot.

The man in gray stood up and launched towards him, the man in gray held his sword in a way which Vladimir had never seen before, the man in gray threw his sword towards Vladimir. And luckily, Vladimir managed to avoid the sword, well he was lucky, he slipped on some mud and fell to the ground.

“What the f**k, man!?” Vladimir yelled, but then he noticed a dead monster which was lying next to him and the monster had the sword in its head.

The man in gray chuckled as he noticed how frightened Vladimir was but Vladimir did not find it funny at all.

“Well… You could at least have told me that there was something behind me, I have a knife too you know!” Vladimir said to the man in gray who was just staring at him.

The clone walked around the destroyed camp in which they were in, and eventually he discovered something, it wasn’t any kind of loot, nor was it precious. But it was info.

“Vladimir, come and take a look at this!” the clone yelled, Vladimir came running as soon as he heard, the clone held a piece of paper which he had picked up from the ground.

“Did you find this paper here?” Vladimir asked, the clone face palmed but then he nodded. Vladimir took the piece of paper and walked towards the three men.

“What the hell is this?” Vladimir asked them with a voice filled with anger, none of the three men answered him, “what the f**k is this?!”

The man in white ripped the paper out of Vladimir’s hand and looked at it; he examined everything on the paper.

     WANTED:
Three men wearing robes, they’re all dangerous and have unique abilities. Shoot on sight, there’s no point what so ever to try to catch them. If they are captured alive the reward will be greater than the reward for just killing them.

They’re all adapted for the use of melee combat and they were developed by the Russian government…

That was what was written on the piece of paper, the three men stared at each other, and they didn’t know what to do.

The man in gray pulled out his sword, he was going to kill Vladimir, but the man in white touched the blade gently and pushed it down as if he was saying “Don’t do it”.

The man in black stretched out his right arm towards Vladimir and the clone who just had joined them, neither the clone or Vladimir did anything, the man in black just stood there with his right arm stretched out, but eventually the man in gray grunted and nodded towards the man in black’s arm.

Vladimir gently stretched out his arm, grabbed the man in black’s hand and shook it, they were now allies.

“So… You guys have any name… It’s torn out, I guess, from this piece of paper… And why are you wanted anyway?” the clone asked, staring into the eyes… Mask of the man in white. The man in white placed his right hand gently on the clone’s forehead and the other hand gently over Vladimir’s forehead. They had visions, they saw what had happened.

Unknown Years Earlier

“Alright, sir… The three elite soldiers you’ve asked for a complete… Although, since you asked us to create them in such a hurry, well, we never got the chance to fully develop a real face or their vocal cords” the nervous scientist told the CIA agent which had been sent by the US government to buy three elite soldiers which the Russian government had engineered.

“No vocal cords, no faces… How the hell are we going to tell the difference between them!?” the CIA agent shouted.

“Well… Of course we’ve solved that problem, they’re getting dressed in three different colors and they all have different weapons, but we never got the chance to program them for the use of long ranged weapons as guns or any other high tech weapon.”

“So… Wait… What colors are they dressed in ‘cuz I want to make sure they’re not easily spotted and then what goddamn weapons do they have?”

“They’re dressed in black, white and gray… And the man in black has two swords, the man in gray has one sword and the man in white has a specially designed… Stick.”

“Wait; let me get this straight… We have three swords and one stick?!”

“But… But… These men are capable of killing in ways that no one else can, they know every sort of combat technique there is and more… They can dodge bullets, run faster than any other human being, they’re smart, the can take care of themselves. They are killing machines; they will only obey your orders!”

“But if they’re smart, how come the only thing they do is obeying orders… I mean, so they don’t have any free will?”

“They do have free will… But not for long, as soon as you give us who and what they’re supposed to follow, and I’m talking about orders, their mind, their feelings and memories will be erased. They will become brain dead and only remember how to kill and fight and how to obey your orders!”

The CIA agent started explaining which orders he wanted the three genetically engineered men to follow, whose orders they were going to obey.

But what the CIA agent or the scientist didn’t know was that in the other room where the three men had gotten their weapons and clothes, every personnel who had been together with those three men in that room, were dead.

“So what do you do to erase their… Personality?” the CIA agent asked curiously, the scientist turned to him and looked at him, but eventually the CIA agent who was quite tall, had short gray hair and blue eyes got his answer from the short, brown haired scientist who had a crooked back.

“Well… We have developed a new drug, like a dart, we shoot them into our test subjects. It’s like small parasites which eat parts of the brain, it’s quite hard to explain so I’ll stop here before you’ll get more confused than you already are” the scientist answered, chuckled then slowly walked to the door which led into the room.

Just when the scientist was going to open the door, a man came running and stopped him from touching the steel door.

“Eh, sir, everyone in that room’s dead… There are more guards and soldiers coming down here to secure the room!” a frightened guard told the scientist.

The CIA agent and the scientist walked away from the door, after a few minutes backup arrived, a man walked to the door, he was soldier. This soldier gently placed a pack of C4 on the steel door; a pack of C2 wouldn’t damage the door in any way.

“Everybody, fall back, this door will go boom in thirty seconds!” the soldier yelled and ran away from the door. Ten soldiers stood in a row more than ten meters away from the door; others leaned to the wall, guns drawn.

“T minus twenty seconds!” the soldier who had placed the charge yelled, and all the sudden, something really weird happened. Everyone noticed how time started to slow down, but no one knew how or why. That was when the steel door came flying at a high speed, and all the sudden it detonated in front of the row of soldiers, shrapnel of the door, pieces of steel hit surrounding soldiers while the row of soldiers were blown into pieces.

Out of the room, three men came running holding melee weapons; remaining soldiers fired at point blank but got killed as soon as they pulled the triggers of their weapons. But these three men had forgotten about a few soldiers, a few soldiers who had gas masks and a special type of smoke grenades.

Those smoke grenades contained the serum which would empty the brains of the three men, a white smoke spread in the hallway and the three men stopped fighting as soon as they noticed the smoke. But there was one thing the scientist had forgotten, they men didn’t just receive clothing in different colors, the men received a special mask which worked just as a gas mask, but it could give the three faceless men a better vision, night vision, infra red vision, the ability to breathe when in water. The masks were bulletproof, not a single bullet could penetrate it, and not even an armor piercing bullet fired from a sniper could go through one of those masks, although it would still hurt like hell if one of the men got shot in the face.

None of these men got affected by the gas, and because of the smoke screen they managed to get out. Alive and then they disappeared from the face of the earth, no one had seen them.

Now

“Damn, you guys had a rough life, hiding out here and s**t…” Vladimir said after being freed from the vision he and the clone had.

The clones stared at each other, one of them chuckled, and then they all headed to the destroyed camp, the man in white climbed onto the roof of the destroyed bunker which had been the hiding place of the thugs living there before.

“I guess he’s taking the first watch” the clone whispered and Vladimir turned to him.

“I guess he is going to take the first watch, although I don’t like them being awake while we’re not.” Vladimir replied as he lay down on the ground next to a camp fire which the man in gray just had made.

The man in black reappeared, he had disappeared for a small amount of time, but he had been in the bunker, looting…  And he came out with two bottles of beer, a bottle of vodka, some bread, and a guitar. The man in black handed what he had found to the clone and Vladimir, but he kept the guitar for himself, the man in black sat next to the camp fire and to Vladimir and the clone’s surprise, the man in black started playing the guitar, like a true professional.

The man in gray sat down next to the fire and threw a log into it, and splashed some vodka onto the fire, making sure it would stay alive for another hour.

Vladimir was lying there, on the ground with his shirt as a pillow. He was staring into the sky, thinking of their chance of survival. Was there any possible way of getting out the hell in which they were trapped?

“No…” Vladimir whispered to himself, the clone that had almost fallen asleep turned to Vladimir.

“No?” the clone asked confused, “What do you mean with ‘no’, Vladimir?”

“There’s just no way in hell… That we’re getting out of this hell!”

The clone stared at Vladimir, it was quiet. The only thing which could be heard in the forest which surrounded them was roars, mutants, animals and something else which wasn’t human or a mutant.

The man in white stood up and eventually jumped down from the roof, the man in white started pointing into the forest.

“What do you think he’s trying to say?” Vladimir asked, the clone shook his head.

“I have no idea” and from behind a dark hill covered with trees a tank appeared, it was a Russian tank.

“Oh… S**t… Hey, where’d the guys go?” the clone asked after noticing the tank and the disappeared three men.

The tank stopped a few meters away from Vladimir and the clone, and behind them the three men popped up, they had been captured.

“Guys, I’m the leader of this project” a man said, that man had been in the tank before jumping out of it and rounding up his men. This man was a midget; he had a bald head and a scar which covered his right eye.

“Excuse me… What project?” Vladimir asked.

“Ah, curious fella’ aren’t you?” the midget smiled “this project… What you see, what has happened to the world, that my friend. That is our… Well mostly, my project!”

“I don’t understand” the clone said.

“My fellow friend… People believe that this was a cooperation between countries, countries like the US and Russia. But you see, they only made the mutants, I set the mutants free. And you might think why I did this, the answer: I wanted to prove people wrong, there is something worse than death and that is to wander in the valley of darkness with no one to save you… The mutants are proof that we humans can be God as well!”

“When I break free… I’ll smash your goddamn head against the ground!” Vladimir roared before he received a powerful shock which caused him to faint.

“And you… Dear clone, you might wonder how we found you and how we managed to capture those three freaks. Well, I have trained some mutants – They are like dogs, they follow a certain scent and then the one creating that scent has no other option than giving up or getting killed. And those three guys over there didn’t want to die so they gave up… Have fun in the machine” this was the last thing the clone heard from the midget before the clone received the same powerful shock as Vladimir.

US – A Few Hours Later

“Damnit… You suck at aiming!” Grey complained because of the wound she had since Megan had shot her.

“I’ve already said ‘I’m sorry’, what more do you want, and you stood up when I was firing so it’s your own fault!” Megan replied angrily.

“Girls… Girls… Calm down… Stop fighting!” a hoarse voice whispered, it was spooky. Out of the dark, voices, echoes, whisperings.

“Who’s there!?” the Corporal shouted.

“When you see me, promise not to shoot… I’m a friend!”

“Eh… I’ll shoot if you’re hostile!”

“Corporal, I know you, you’d never shoot an unarmed man… Or your best friend!”

“R-Re-Reaper… Is that you!?”

“Don’t fear me, Corporal, I’m still Reaper, your friend… I’ve just mutated a bit, but I won’t harm you!” Reaper stepped out of the darkest shadow in the room. And behind Reaper there was a short man, a midget; this midget was bald and had a scar which covered the right eye.

“NOW!” the midget shouted, and out of the dark, grenades filled with a gas which caused anyone to fall asleep, were thrown at the small team.

And Reaper received a massive shock which made him faint.

Location Unknown

Vladimir coughed, threw up, coughed some more and then he got up. He stared at the clone and then he stared at his other cellmates.

A black male, another white male and two females, he tiptoed towards them just to try to see if they had any patch which could tell him where they came from.

US Special Forces

“F****n’ great…” Vladimir whispered.

“What’s so f*****g great…? Vladimir?” the Corporal asked, smiling, he never did smile when he woke up, but for once he did.

“I… I never thought I was going to see you again, Corporal, not since that last mission which went so damn wrong and we had to separate” Vladimir continued “what went wrong, Corporal, the fact that backup never arrived when we needed it to, or the fact that you and I accidentally killed everyone?”

“I think it was because of you and I accidentally blew everything to hell… Tell me, where are the other clones’… Or did they get blown to hell as well?”

“They got blown to hell as well except this clone, he’s been the luckiest of them, and I guess they accidentally gave him some of my luck!”

They both laughed but eventually Grey, Megan and Mischa woke up, none of them were smiling, they all stared at each other, they were all confused.

“Megan, Grey, Mischa – This is a good friend of mine, a lab rat, we used to fight together before but something went wrong in a mission and he was sent to Russia and he was given a false Russian identity!” the Corporal told the information gladly but he got a response which he wasn’t ready for:
“Where… The… F**k... Are we!?” Megan started to panic, she felt paranoid, common side effect of the gas which they had gotten earlier “and where’s Reaper!?” she remembered that they had spoken to him before they had been put to sleep.

They realized that Reaper was gone.

“And… Vladimir, where’s the three men?” the clone asked after a while, Vladimir checked the small room once more, the three men were gone.

“What three men?” the Corporal asked, Vladimir stared the Corporal in the eye and explained everything and once Vladimir was gone the Corporal told him the story of Reaper.

“This means that once again, we’ll have to cooperate, Corporal” Vladimir stated.

“And this means… That once again, we’ll blow the s**t up!” the Corporal replied, winked, and then the Corporal smiled.

“Where are you guys from?” Reaper asked the three men, they were all chained to the wall, the three men stared at Reaper, none of them said anything.

“Mutes, eh… I know how to handle mutes… When I get free, I’ll save you!” Reaper said this with the intention of sounding dumb, it usually makes Megan or Grey smile and sometimes even laugh. But then again they were girls, and he was talking to three men, chained to a wall. And they were mutes.

Reaper used his newly developed strength to tare himself free from the chains, the chains were still stuck to his ankles and wrist, but he had ripped them from the wall.

The three men stared at Reaper; they watched him as he freed them as well. They all nodded, then walked towards the door made out of some “impenetrable” door.

“Don’t worry guys, I can get this door open” Reaper told them, and all the sudden, Reaper hit the door with all of his strength but the door didn’t move, it didn’t even get a scratch. Instead, Reaper was lying on the floor holding his left hand; he had almost crushed his fist.

The man in black watched Reaper, but then he turned to the man in white and pointed at the door, the man in white nodded.

The man in white stood in front of the door, and somehow, with an open hand, with the use of his palm, he hit the door and the door flew into the wall on the other side of the hallway.

“You just… You hit the door; it flew into the wall… But somehow… Man, why’s it dripping blood from behind the door?” Reaper stood up, walked to the door, and pushed it aside. A guard had been crushed; he was probably going to check what the heck was going on in their cell when the man in white hit the door.

“Hey, Reaper… Guys, is that you making all that noise!?” the Corporal yelled from their cell which was at the left end of the hallway. The three men ran over there and once again the man in white did his magical trick which opened the door.

All of them gathered, and now none of them were happy. Since they knew who had done this and they knew that the little freak was somewhere in this base, they had to find him and stop him.

“I can smell him… He’s right… Over there!” Reaper pointed towards the end of the hallway, they saw a dozen mutant soldiers and behind that wall of approximately fifty mutant soldiers, there was a small man, a small dead man.

They all stared at each other; they stared at the mutant soldiers.

They were all ready for a fight; the mutant soldiers dropped their weapons.

This was it, now or never, they had to get to the midget, no matter what.

“RUSH ‘EM!” Vladimir shouted, and all of them ran towards the mutant soldiers, it was hand-to-hand combat and this was probably going to be the last stand.

The mutant soldiers ran towards them, the tight hallway opened up and eventually became a battlefield, the first wave of mutants were crushed in the matter of seconds since the three men and Reaper stormed them with full force.

All hell broke, mutant soldiers were thrown everywhere. Reaper received many blows, and eventually he fell to the ground.

The man in black kicked a mutant soldier in the stomach, causing the mutant to fly backwards and crush his teammates.

The man in gray dropkicked a mutant soldier in the throat, that caused the mutants neck to break somehow, and once the man in gray landed he turned around and with a swift kick he managed to kick the head of a mutant soldier.

The man in white was the most vicious of them, the most dangerous. He was the real killing machine.

The man in white stood there, calm, and his brothers had already fallen, and he was the only one left. And then the normal humans had to take care of the rest of the mutants.

The man in white was gathering his inner strength and eventually he released it, he ran towards the mutants and with an incredible speed and strength he sent dead mutant soldiers flying through the air, he saw everything slower than it actually was, he was capable of dodging bullets if he wanted to. But the only thing he has to do now is to deliver as many hits as possible and leave as few mutants left before he faints or even dies of exhaustion.

None of the mutant soldiers had a chance and all the sudden the man in white stopped, the man in white dropped to the ground.

The midget stood there, shocked, he turned around, and he was running towards the exit.

“You aren’t going anywhere you little s**t!” Grey yelled as she picked up the weapon which a mutant soldier had held, she aimed and pulled the trigger.

Grey hit the midget in the leg, the midget tripped, fell and started crawling.

One hour had gone; the team had left the small island. They were now in a modified Black Hawk, that helicopter could fit more people than before.

They all stared into the horizon, the island was beautiful, and too bad Vladimir and the Corporal had found a smaller version of a nuke and activated it. It was going to destroy the island, killing every mutant that had been left to die there.

Reaper and the three men were still passed out.

These two teams had nowhere to go, no home; mutants were still alive on every other continent. The only thing these two teams could do was to find survivors and hope for a better chance of surviving this dead world.

This is now the complete story, it's done, although I think that the ending sucked. And I'd love if You, the reader, would comment, tell me what's good/bad about it, what I should change etc. And I need You to be 100% honest with me.
And I can write a part 2 if anyone would want me to.
