Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Renew

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Renew

A Poem by Monners
"

before it's too late, my darlings.

"

Don't deny

We're designed to die

Disappear like the dinosaurs

An ice age?

"Well maybe", They say;

Disregarding the facts by pure ignorance

Or it could be fear

We take and take and take

And push and pull and need

And suck the life from life.

Please don't cry

These words have meanings

Deep inside

We deny

Deny

Deny

Global climate change is real, my friends.

As is overpopulation...

This world has a carrying capacity

Believe it

It would just suck to realize what that might be

When we all burn up by the sun's rays

Or freeze in an ice cluster of human ignorance

And cold hearts

That just don't care enough to inspire

CHANGE.

It's needed.

Change.

The earth cries for it desperately

"Please help me!"

As the rivers dry

And species disappear

And summers sizzle

And winters get progressively colder

When will we open our eyes

To mother earth's cries

We need to nurture her back to health

Stop the unnecessary

Reach for the highest goals

And push for the biggest changes

Or we'll just return to our beginning

Dust to dust

Ashes to ashes

It's depressing really

More as time passes

We can be like the Lorax

and speak for the trees

Reduce our impact

And soon, please.

Wow, I love the impassioned tone through out you did so well to keep it continuously and you can tell this is something that you are passionate about- this is a really good battle cry for what needs to be done. I hope it touches those that need to hear it- we are all stewards of the earth and though most people don't realize the old adage "you reap what you sow" applies here as well; if we destroy we will be destroyed and that is what is going on right now. Many times I wished I was in a time before the concrete jungles of today to see the world lush and green everywhere instead of just in conservation parks. This was a wonderful peice with a wonderful message and I applaud you on sharing the wisdom that needed to be told. Bravo!

This is a message that everyone needs to take to heart. I don't understand why we even offer SUV's for sale. Americans better get a grip on what they drive if they care at all! barbara

Powerful message of awful happenings, truly! More and more this lush world falls to decay.

omgosh...The Lorax. Definitely one of the best Suess stories ever. Good write. I like your thoughts, though I don't completely agree with all of them. There will be change and it's just around the bend.

Great message. But don't cry for mother Earth. She knows when it is necessary to eat her young to survive.

What a horrid thought I know, but it is a cycle of the life of this planet.
