Running Away

Running Away

A Poem by Monners

when you're broken

theres no telling

when the world will pick you up again

running

but to where

swearing that God hates you

dreaming of leaving

since you've been small

nothing in life is easy

but why does it have to be this hard

no one is here

you wonder if they notice you're gone

leaving this town

for somewhere no one can find you

and you can recreate yourself

have a new life

new past

new future

new story

new words

new you

to turn and run

pick up and leave

words scream

over your head

into your heart

words scream

that confuse

like 'i love you'

and 'i need you'

and 'you matter'

and 'i'm here'

wondering why those lies were spoken

why you had to be born to the wrong family

where you don't belong

you cry and pack

sneak out the door

when all is dark

you see him waiting

under the streetlight

knowing your plans

holding you close

cry on his shoulder

'walk with me' he'll say

and to a path not far

sit by the lake

and converse without words

holding you closely

he kisses your forehead

takes your hand in his

and tells you that you are his world

I am complete now that I've found you

"swearing that God hates you"

Oh, come on! You know that Allah loves you and Jesus as well. It might not always show so well, but such is the truth. :)

"nothing in life is easy
but why does it have to be this hard"

That's not God or Jesus. That is people. I am sorry, but that is the way that it is. Such hard times build character!

"words scream
that confuse
like 'i love you'
and 'i need you'
and 'you matter'
and 'i'm here'"

That just what guys say when they want... :) I will translate for you as necessary.

"to a path not far
sit by the lake
and converse without words
holding you closely
he kisses your forehead
takes your hand in his
and tells you that you are his world"

See! It's not all that bad - there's love on this Godforsaken planet! What a nice piece of work! Good job!

This really touched me in so many different ways, i swear. Twas a very sad write in the beginning, but in the end it turned out so amazing...like your true love has been waiting for you to come, and both of you can have a new life together- live the fantasy; the way you've both planned out together. Excellent write, love :)
