This ChairA Poem by Monica Rae (Schaeffer) StoverThis chair is wooden in the cold it is cold
This chair supports when kept in good repair
This chair is not unique, though I am the only one I know who has one exactly like it
This chair is mine for as long as the universe allows it to be
(so maybe this chair really belongs to the universe)
This chair is flawed and its flaws have continued to craft it
I have sat in this chair and lied in this chair and lived, and fed, and once, on a steamy afternoon in July, I have loved on this chair.
And the chair remains.
