For the Children

…and for Ukraine The Russian missles rained down… bombs falling on civilians. Fragments were found to have "for the children" painted one them in Russian.

The Great Bear ravages the purity of home

leaving bloody trails upon virginal snow fall

gouging seeds of destruction where it treads

Apocalyptic fire rains from wide open skies

Mechanized horror aimed for the heart

Industrial scale death where sunflowers grew

Crumbling rubble falls helter-skelter

tumbled or tossed in desperation

by hands seeking, pleading for lives

The bleeding, blackened earth weeps

turned earth, disturbed with grave secrets

secret graves of blood drenched witness

The ground trembles in mute horror

a war ravaged old woman rains down curses

on men’s bombs tagged “for the children.”

Oh. Well, Medium pays partners. To be a partner, you only have to have a membership (which is $50 per year or $5 per month) and 100 or more followers. From my understanding, you are paid pennies per read of your posts by apportioning the membership fees out to partners.

I've been on Medium for a couple of years. But, I only just got a paid membership the second week of March. I'm not getting rich, but I'm making more than the monthly cost of membership from the start. Personally, I'll be satisfied if my writing pays for the membership. Of course, I'd love to see an actual income stream; though, I'm not going to stress over it. And, there seems to be much more support and interaction there than any other platform on which I blog.
