Thank you. Sadly, what we will have next is a woman who walked through every door RBG kicked open for her, only to slam them all shut in our faces!

Amy Coney-Barrett claims to be an Originalist. Originalism means "In the context of United States law, originalism is a concept regarding the interpretation of the Constitution that asserts that all statements in the constitution must be interpreted based on the original understanding "at the time it was adopted."

That means Black people count only as three fifths of person -- and slaves. Only white men with large land holdings can vote. Women are chattel with no rights.

That kind of interpretation would take us back -- de-evolve our society to the 18th Century (that's the 1700s). It would take us back to a time when when when education was only for the children of the rich and poor children worked from sunup to sundown… when the life expectancy for white men was around 38 years… back to a time when lesbians and "promiscuous" women were sent to insane asylums and gay men were sent to prison and/or worse… back when medicine was bloodletting and unregulated potions… back when clean drinking water and plumbing and sewage waste management were not a thing… back to a time when women gave birth at home and one in eight died in childbirth, and half of children didn't live to grow up.

I really cannot understand how even the GOP base cannot see the detriment of this path to themselves and their children's futures.
