Your accent adds to it...for me especially...as my family lived many years in NC...

Thank so much. Y'know, I never think of myself as having an accent. I'm always mildly taken nonplussed when someone reminds me. LOL

Where in NC did your family live?

my folks retired to Whispering Pines...then moved to Southern Pines when they sold their house...and lived there until they passed...
My sister has lived in Deep Gap by Boone for many many years.

I had (may still have) some relatives in those areas – well, not Deep Gap, that I'm aware. But, then, you never know. My kin are the Grahams, and you can't hardly shake a stick around here without hitting a Graham!

after my mom died in 2014, my sister took my dad in...wasn't a great idea...but later she put him in Deerfield Ridge Memory Care Unit...he thrived there, was pretty happy and then he passed in 2017 at almost 97...that was such a nice place and he was treated so well, they loved him there. NC is a really pretty state...My heart belongs to Vermont...but NC is a close second.
