Haiku exploring "chrysalis"

This is my attempt at haiku in response to a poetry prompt in WE PAW Bloggers group on Facebook.

Darkness we endure
Slime and sludge of becoming
A shining new hope

or

Destruction endured
we're undone in chrysalis
to shine with new hope

Okay, I just looked it up. Senryu is unrhymed "human haiku"

senryu is exactly the same form, same syllable count but Haiku are strictly nature...Senryu is pretty much anything else that isn't.
