You Named Me ‘Friend'

You Named Me ‘Friend'

A Poem by MomzillaNC
"

Another poem about the sister of my heart, who led me forward, showed me the path to spiritual growth and a deeper Faith in God and in humanity.

"

You found me cold and held my hand

Showed me how to find true home

I was at my end, you gave me hope

You shone a light into my reality,

Revealing truth, you gave me sanity

Made me welcome, let me belong,

Taught me loyalty, called me friend

You showed me I could stand alone

Unveiled the depths of my own strength

To face the world, and stand proud

Stand so tall I could glimpse eternity

I was in need and you were there

A loyal heart made me as family

Someone who truly cares, a friend

Overwhelming confusion filled my mind

You opened my eyes, gave me clarity

My shredded soul was sliding away

You led me to spiritual wholeness

You lifted me up, and forward to dignity

From worthlessness I was made to believe

You truly cared and named me friend.

Your poem is a beautiful tribute to someone who has clearly had a profound impact on your life. The way you describe them as someone who "found you cold and held your hand" is particularly striking, as it suggests a sense of comfort and safety that is hard to come by. I love the way you describe this person as having "shown you how to find true home," as it suggests a sense of belonging and rootedness that is essential to our well-being. The final stanza, where you describe how this person "led you to spiritual wholeness" and "lifted you up" is especially moving, as it speaks to the transformative power of friendship and love. Overall, I think this poem is a wonderful expression of gratitude and appreciation, and I'm sure that the person who inspired it will be deeply touched by your words.
