These are written by my ten-year old son. I may be biased, but I think it's very well penned for his age.

Dreams, dreams…

Our own personal

time machines.

Fall asleep

go back in time

to before you were born!

Dreams, dreams…

A story unfolds

about a knight,

a fair maiden,

and feasts with corn!

Dreams, dreams…

A time machine…

a book and story,

an adventure,

a poem,

a second life,

Most of all… sleep!

Hey Diddle Diddle

Hey diddle, diddle

The moose in the middle

The goose flew over the moon

The little horse laughed

To see such sport!

And the dish ran away 

with the juice

Humpty Frumpty

Humpty Frumpty sat on a log

Humpty Frumpty was a fat frog

All the king's horses

and all the kings men

Couldn't catch Frumpty

So nyah, nyah, nyah!

These are awesome! "Dreams is incredible for a Ten Year Old and "Hey Diddle Diddle" is nostalgic with a nice little twist in the juice, but I really love "Humpty Frumpty" because the end made my tummy role when I laughed. "So nyah, nyah, nyah! SPLAT!" Oh good lord, that's great!

The line that always stuck in my mind is "Feasts with corn!" LOL

It is indeed a good line. It seems to pull the whole thing together like a well rounded composition.

It is funny. But perhaps to me for different reasons than you think it funny. Remember I'm sprained.

I'm imagining stalks of corn pulling up a seat next to humans trying very hard to act normal about it.

That is indeed funny. I wasn't thinking that at all. More the other side, I was thinking of humans trying to exist among living stalks of corn. But then my mind also went to Children of the Corn and being eaten by the stalks. Yeah, that's sprained again. I'm sorry. Don't let your son read this part.

He learned to read at three years old, while sitting on my grandfather's knee every morning while he read the newspaper. He scores among the highest ELA (English Language Arts) in the State. Thank you very much.

Your welcome, Momzilla. Am sorry to hear that hear, Momzilla son. On special occasions, my parent let me, stay up late, when I was your age. But you do have a very special gift with words, and I hope you develop it to its fullest.

I have let him stay up on occasion, when there was nothing going on the next day. He forgets that. He also forgets that his father has to be up for work at 5am and goes to bed within an hour after he does. Hubby and I need that hour together to decompress and reunite.
