Backyard Sunsets

Silhouettes cast in backyard sunsets

Of angel painted skies in fairy light.

Everywhere softened edges glow

In the backyard sunset’s blaze.

Ordinary, hard, chore-laden land

Now transformed by light and color…

Immersed in hues of fiery warmth

Across the sky and here below…

Just a step outside my own door,

Walk into a world fired by magic.

Hear the chirping insect music,

Be bathed in pure tranquility…

With every never mundane…

Always magical backyard sunset…

There we always will be found…

Where home waits for me.

I love the way you gracefully led the reader into a beautiful journey. This was filled with a vivid image of nature's true colors. The last stanza had me a little confused. Could just be my comprehension. I'm not the brightest crayon in the box :D Thank you for sharing. Very well done.

With every never mundane… (I will never see a day in the sunset with my husband and son as ordinary)
Always magical backyard sunset… (I never take it for granted; I know what a miracle this joy is.)
There we always will be found… (I will reach for this, for him and me -- us -- every day of my life.)
Where home waits for me. (Where these feelings, where my husband and son are, there is my home, my "Backyard Sunset.")

The imagery in this piece is outstanding, I love how vivid it was without being too much to bare. I love how you made something so common, so simple into something with more meaning and importance than words could ever really do enough justice for. Awesome write.
